Jing’s Residence – Boutique Courtyard in Pingyao

Jing's Residence is a heritage, boutique hotel, set in the ancient city of Pingyao in Shanxi province of North China. The 2,700-year-old Pingyao is one of the last remaining walled cities of China, that was made famous by Chinese director Zhang Yimou’s film Raise the Red Lantern. Inside, there are lacquer headboards and kang-style beds, all made by local artisans, and internet points seamlessly integrated into the historic decor. Its in-house restaurant, a member of Relais & Châteaux group, serves international and regional Shanxi cuisines. There are ample spaces to relax within the Residence, including a cozy bar and library.

The Jing's Residence is ideally located in the heart of the old town, so you can easily walk down its city wall and view its barbican gates that has earned Pingyao the nickname Turtle City.
