If you arrive early you can visit some of Karachi’s historic landmarks. Visit Quaid-e-Azam’s Mausoleum, the final resting place of Pakistan’s founder, an architectural icon of the nation. Then visit Mohatta Palace, one of Karachi’s historic palaces, now a grand museum showcasing Pakistan’s artistic and cultural heritage. These visits will give you a glimpse of Karachi’s deep rooted past. End the day with a well deserved rest at your hotel.

Hyderabad

Today we will take an excursion from Karachi to Hyderabad and visit some of Pakistan's most important historical sites. Start in Thatta, home to the UNESCO listed Makli Necropolis, one of the largest funerary sites in the world, with monumental tombs. Then visit Chaukundi Tombs, famous for their sandstone carvings that provide an insight into Pakistan's early Islamic art. En route stop at Bhanbore, the ancient port where Islam first entered the subcontinent. After a full day, continue to Hyderabad for the night.

Hyderabad

Sehwan Sharif

After breakfast we will drive from Hyderabad to Sehwan Sharif with a stop at Ranikot Fort, often called the “Great Wall of Sindh” due to its massive fortifications. In Sehwan Sharif you will visit the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar, a renowned Sufi saint and one of Pakistan’s most famous spiritual figures. This sacred site is famous for its spiritual atmosphere, Sufi traditions and centuries old history. The shrine attracts thousands of Muslims from across the region, especially during religious observances, who come to pay their respects and participate in rituals. Feel the mysticism that attracts thousands of devotees from all over the region. After a full day unwind and prepare for the next leg of your Pakistan historical tour.

Sukkur

Today, with your expert guide, travel to Mohenjo Daro, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most important archaeological sites of the Indus Valley Civilization (2500–1500 BC). Later visit the magnificent Kot Diji Fort near Khairpur, an imposing historical stronghold with breath-taking views and insights into Pakistan’s ancient defensive architecture. Bahawalpur

Today will be a long but meaningful journey through Southern Punjab to Bahawalpur. On the way, we’ll stop at Uch Sharif, a small town in Southern Punjab known for its ancient Sufi shrines. These shrines are important for both their spiritual and architectural value and honour the memory of respected Sufi saints. Some special days linked to these shrines are considered optional holidays in Pakistan. The region is a landscape filled with historical and cultural sites, offering a unique blend of heritage and natural beauty. Later, we’ll continue into the wide Cholistan Desert to see the impressive Derawar Fort, built in the 8th century. This huge fort rising from the desert sands is a striking reminder of Pakistan’s rich history. In Bahawalpur, don’t miss the Noor Mahal, a notable landmark showcasing the city’s architectural grandeur. After a full day of exploration unwind in Bahawalpur and reflect on this historical and cultural tour.

Multan

Today we’ll drive from Bahawalpur to Multan, the renowned 'city of saints' celebrated for its rich Sufi heritage and spiritual legacy. Multan’s deep connection to Sufism is evident in its many shrines and mystical traditions, shaped by centuries of cultural exchange with Central Asia. We’ll visit the shrines of Bahauddin Zakariya and Shah Rukn-e-Alam – two of the most well-known Sufi sites in the city. These beautiful buildings are not only artistic wonders, adorned with intricate blue tiles reflecting Mughal and Central Asian influences, but also hold deep spiritual meaning, giving you a closer look at Pakistan’s Sufi traditions. Multan is also famous for its traditional blue pottery, known as Kashī Gāri, crafted by local artisans and featuring distinctive blue designs on a white base. Important Islamic holidays like Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Azha are celebrated here with special prayers and gatherings, showing how closely religion is tied to the city’s culture and calendar. On the way, we’ll stop at Harappa, an ancient city from the Indus Valley Civilisation, over 4,000 years old. You’ll see how people lived long ago, with planned streets and advanced drainage systems. Once in Lahore, you’ll have the option to visit local Sufi shrines, where mystics perform spinning dances to the beat of traditional Dhol drums – a fascinating spiritual experience.

Lahore

Today, embark on a comprehensive city tour of Lahore’s rich history and culture. Start at the Badshahi Mosque, a grand Mughal-era structure that was once the largest mosque of its time. Then visit the Lahore Museum to see a wide collection of artefacts from Pakistan’s past. Continue to the Wazir Khan Mosque, renowned for its intricate blue tiles and colourful tilework, and finish the day at the impressive Lahore Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site. For those interested in Mughal architecture, the Shah Jahan Mosque—another notable Mughal-era mosque famed for its decorative tile work—can also be included as an optional visit. Lahore

Spend another day discovering Lahore’s lively streets and cultural sites. In the afternoon, head to the Wagah Border to witness the famous flag ceremony between Pakistan and India.
