Your journey starts with a luxury cruise ship experience from Maumere, a popular embarkation port for cruise ships exploring the Indonesian archipelago. As you set sail to Kumba Island, the first evening is a sunset over the ocean. Unwind and enjoy the sea, the stars above. The cruise ship has all the amenities you need to relax and look forward to the adventures ahead while sailing overnight. Be sure to bring comfortable clothing, swimwear, and sun protection to make the most of your cruise.
Wake up to the sight of Kumba Island, part of Indonesia’s famous chain of volcanoes and known for its active volcano. Start the day with a leisurely walk along one of its beautiful pebble beaches and soak up the island’s natural beauty, with the opportunity to swim in the clear waters. Then it’s time for an underwater adventure. Swim and snorkel in the crystal clear waters to explore colourful reefs teeming with marine life. After your underwater exploration, return to the ship and sail overnight to Alor Island, more wonders await.
Arrive early at Alor Island’s Kebola Bay and spend the day exploring and immersing in culture. Hike through the hills and forests of Kalabahi and end up in Takpala, a traditional village to get a deep dive into Indonesian life and culture. Engaging with and respecting the local culture is essential here, as meaningful interactions help protect and enrich the cultural heritage of the community. Spend the day with locals and learn their customs. When visiting villages, be sure to dress in accordance with local traditions to show respect for the community. As the day winds down, return to your ship, anchored for another peaceful night.
Greet the morning with excitement as you visit the beautiful Pura and Ternate islands, located in the Banda Sea—a remote and pristine marine area renowned for its natural beauty and exclusive exploration opportunities. Spend the day beachcombing on their pristine shores and swimming in the cool, turquoise waters. Keep an eye out for dolphins, as they often play in these waters—an experience you won’t want to miss. Seeing them in their natural habitat is the highlight of the day. Enjoy the serene environment before returning to the ship, with memories of a great day.
Sail to Watubalu Island and feel the sea breeze as you get there. Once ashore, hike through the island’s jungle. The island is a wildlife haven with wild deer, exotic wildlife, and other fascinating creatures. The day is an intimate encounter with nature in its purest form.
Lembata Island awaits and you can visit Lamalerap, a village by the sea where traditional whaling is still practiced, before you head to the famous Bali for more adventure. A day of exploration at Waienga Bay on Lembata Island, venturing off the beaten track to discover remote and authentic experiences. Return to the ship for the last overnight, savoring the memories of an amazing journey.
