The Surin, Phuket, Thailand

The Surin is an exclusive designer beach retreat, set on a rolling hillside, overlooking Pansea Bay on the western shores of Phuket. Built around a giant central pavilion, amidst a beachfront coconut grove, are 103 cottages and suites, designed by Paris-based architect and designer Ed Tuttle. There is a settle mix of Parisian style with Asian influence both in residences and the resort’s two restaurants, serving authentic Thai cuisines and fresh seafood dinners with a western twist. Stay 

The Surin resort features 103 beach suites and one- and two-bedroom cottages, dotted along the beachfront and forested hillside. Shaded by a canopy of coconut trees and joined together by a network of jungle walkways, the Hillside Cottages are for guests who wish to indulge in a tropical experience. While the Beach Deluxe Suites and Studios, set on the beach are ideal for couples and families. Each air-conditioned room has private verandas, minibars and all the mod cons. 

ChildCare 

Families with children are welcome to stay at The Surin. The two-bedroom cottages (55 sqm) has king-size bed in the master bedroom and twin single beds in the connecting room, both with TVs and a common sitting area, which are ideal for families. There is a Kid's menu in all restaurants. Babysitting service can be arranged if required.

Dine 

There are two restaurants at The Surin. The glass-encased Lomtalay overlooking the pool and garden, offers a mix of international, Thai and Asian options. While the Sunset Café offers a casual all-day menu of Asian and international specialties served tapas style. There is also The Beach Restaurant (that pops up on the edge of the beach from October to May) and offers Mediterranean and international dishes focussed on catch of the day and prime-cut meat from the charcoal BBQ. 

Relax 

Leisure activities at The Surin include a beautiful outdoor pool surrounded with tropical forest and fronting Andaman Sea. There is a peaceful Spa, carefully designed to harmonise with the natural beauty of the surroundings. Four well-appointed indoor and outdoor treatment rooms pose the perfect sanctuary for ultimate spa indulgence. Other facilities include a beachside well-equipped gym and beachside yoga. 

Experience 

A wide range of water sports are available at The Surin including catamaran sailing, windsurfing, snorkelling as well as beach volleyball and more. Also learn to sail a catamaran, explore the colourful tropical fish and snorkel or scuba dive the many sites of the Andaman Sea. There are two floodlit tennis courts and a new beachside gym and a lovely beach to walk or jogging.

Location Nestled away from the crowds on a pristine stretch of shoreline overlooking Pansea Beach on the west coast of Phuket Island, Thailand. Situated close enough to enjoy neighbouring Surin area, with just enough separation feel secluded.The resort is a 25 minutes car journey from Phuket International Airport and 30 minutes drive from lively Patong Beach and historical Phuket Town.

Getting there 11-hour international flight to Bangkok International Suvarnabhumi Airport, followed by a 1-hour domestic flight to Phuket International Airport. The Surin is 30-minutes from the airport.

When to go Tropical climate and the driest months to visit are December to March. November and April are also good months to visit and you may get some rain, although it is outside of the monsoon season. May to October is the monsoon with downpours occurring once or twice a day, rather than constant rain.
