COMO Point Yamu – Contemporary Resort in Phuket

Como Point Yamu is a stylish resort, set on a secluded east coast peninsula of Phuket, in southern Thailand. Located high above Phang Nga Bay are 106 rooms, suites and villas, whose striking contemporary decor was created by Italian avant-garde design talent Paola Navone. Interiors feature COMO’s signature clean lines, pared-back minimalism using local materials in colour palette of cool blues and turquoises of the Andaman Sea, framed with floor to ceiling windows.

Dining options at the Como Point Yamu include delicately crafted Italian cuisine to heady and fragrant Thai dishes to a selection of healthy and delicious COMO Shambhala menus. In fact, there is a particular emphasis on wellness; sunrise yoga sessions, calming lighting, 100-metre outdoor pool and a luxurious spa. Nearly every room benefits from a private terrace and villas boast private swimming pools. There is no beach but there is a boat shuttle to private beach on a nearby island.

Stay Como Point Yamu features 79 rooms and suites and 27 private luxury villas. All come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes and are individually decorated. Villa accommodation ranges from the beautiful one-bedroom pool villas to larger four-bedroom pool villas, all full of natural light and views over the Andaman Sea or the Cape’s lush green surroundings. The Suites boast beautiful terraces and private verandas, pools, kitchenettes and terraces and plenty of lounging spaces.

ChildCare Families with children are welcome to stay at the Como Point Yamu. The two and three-bedroom villas are ideal for families as they feel like a private home and offer plenty of space. There are also interconnecting rooms and suites. Children facilities include child size bathrobes and slippers, highchairs in restaurants and cots for rooms. There is a dedicated kid’s play zone, kids club with lots of educational and exciting activities. Babysitting service can be arranged, upon request.

Dine There are two gourmet restaurants at the Como Point Yamu. La Sirena offering incredible views of the views over Phang Nga Bay, serves light Italian dishes including homemade cereals, wood-fired Italian cuisines with pizza and seafood. For an authentic taste of Thailand, Nahmyaa Restaurant takes inspiration from the delicious Thai street food cooking. For healthy living, go for the Como Shambhala cuisine which uses organic ingredients rich in vitamins and minerals.

Relax Pamper yourself with a visit to the resort’s spa at the COMO Shambhala Retreat which offers body treatments and facials including Asian-inspired massages using signature blended oils. Alongside this there is a yoga studio, steam rooms, Jacuzzi and gym and fitness instructors are at hand should you be in need of some coaxing. There is also a 100-metre outdoor swimming pool and a Aqua Bar provide the perfect spots to enjoy a lazy afternoon smoothie or expertly crafted cocktail.

Experience The Phang Nga Bay, made famous by James Bond’s Man with the Golden Gun, has developed in recent years as a popular yachting destination with underwater attractions for divers and snorkelers. Como Point Yamu provides a range of water activities to explore the area with kayaking, sailing, fishing, scuba diving and snorkelling. One day, visit the Gibbon Rehabilitation Project, that saves gibbons from captivity in an effort to rehabilitate them.
