Jim's farm is a traditional style boutique hotel, set in Sri Lanka's Cultural Triangle, north of Kandy and Matale. Surrounded by a 50-acre estate of a working organic farm with coconut palms, tropical fruit trees and a variety of spices, this eco retreat offers an authentic experience of rural Sri Lanka. Centrally located, midway between Dambulla and Kandy, it is a great base from which to explore the country’s unique cultural and heritage sites, ancient cities and the nearby wildlife parks.
Housed within three separate villas in Jim's Farm are 14 guest rooms. All our spacious in size with sitting areas and simply decorated with locally handcrafted furniture and wooden floors. Amenities include air-conditioning, fans and ensuite bathrooms, some with bathtubs. Thirteen rooms are located on upper floors, some with a private or shared balcony and a plunge pool and there is a single bedroom at ground floor level. Each villa can be booked as an individual unit or exclusively.
Meals at the Jim's Farm Villas are served in the Spice Garden Villa’s terrace featuring Sri Lankan and Western dishes. Breakfast and lunch can be served privately while dinner is usually a sociable, communal affair. There is a lovely swimming pool with views of the surrounding mountains and lovely gardens, home to a variety of birdlife. Activities in the surrounds include nature walks and cycling tours to nearby villages. Day excursions to Dambulla and Kandy can be easily arranged.

When to go Sri Lanka is a year-round destination with consistently warm temperatures and lots of sunshine. However, it barely gets unbearably hot in the Hill Country. The months of December to April are probably the best time to visit, when days are warm (around 28C) with cool nights. During the monsoon season from October to December you can expect heavy downpours. June to September are the driest months here when there’s almost no rain at all.
