Ceylon Tea Trails in south central Sri Lanka are a group of five Tea Trails bungalows in the hills of the Bogawantalawa region in the Dimbula district. Bogawantalawa is known as “The Golden Valley” on account of its lush tea bushes and is famous for Ceylon Tea. The five Tea Trails bungalows, each with 4 to 6 rooms and suites, are located between 2 km and 15km from each other. This is an ideal setting for trekking and biking against the backdrop of mountains, lakes, and waterfalls.
Luxury Rooms in Ceylon Tea Trails bungalows open into a courtyard with a garden, lake or tea fields view. The more spacious Garden Suites are gracefully furnished with four poster king bed and a luxurious bathroom. For more space book Master Suite, with a separate living room and a private garden. Like to splash… take the Owner’s Cottage, located at Dunkeld bungalow, a romantically secluded standalone bungalow with heated outdoor tub with spectacular views of tea fields and lake.
Culture tours can be arranged to Kandy, the Hill Capital of Sri Lanka, Adam's Peak, Nuwara Eliya and the national parks of Horton Plains and Uda Walawe, known for elephants. Activities include white-water rafting, riding and tennis. But Ceylon Tea Trails is primarily for those who prefer holidaying the old-fashioned way; with no TV and no nightlife but glorious food, resting on the veranda with a Gin and Tonic, swimming, and enjoying the unique countryside.

Location All 4 bungalows are situated around the Castlereagh Reservoir, near Hatton, in central Sri Lanka. These are set in the Bogawantalawa Valley, known as the Golden Valley of Tea.
Getting There There are direct (10-hour 45-minute) flights to Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo. Most guests come by private car, either as part of a bigger exploration around Sri Lanka or arranged by Ceylon Tea Trails. The journey time is 4.5 hours from Colombo.
When to go The best time to visit Sri Lanka is between December and April when it’s drier and the climate is cooler. It’s also the peak time for whale-watching in the south where blue and sperm whales can be seen. From May to August the Yala monsoon brings rain to the island’s southwestern coast and the cultural triangle. However, the hill country around Nuwara Eliya, Horton Plains and Bandarawela remains cooler. Rains may also occur between September and November.
