Boutique

Amara Mountain Resort is a boutique hotel, located in the hill-town of Kalaw, in the Shan State of Myanmar. Built in 1909 and renovated in 2002, the resort houses just 10 rooms in two, tudor-style houses with pretty gardens and surrounded by pine forests overlooking the town. Inside the décor is minimalist but elegant, wooden furnishings and ample spaces to relax. The resort is popular with trekkers and travellers who like to explore off the beaten track and experience rural Myanmar.

Royal Kalaw Hills Resort is a charming colonial boutique hotel, set in the hill station of Kalaw in Myanmar’s Shan State. Built on a hillside in 1898, the hotel reminisces of an English country house with Tudor details. There are just 14 rooms grouped in four categories some of which are located in the original building while others are set in the gardens. Occupying an ideal position above the town, it is surrounded with a beautiful garden and a pine forest stretching into the distance.

Resort

The Hotel-Kalaw Hill Lodge is a boutique farmhouse, located about a 20-minute drive south from Kalaw in Southern Myanmar. Set within 30 acres of land, there are just 32 rooms set in two-storey, thatched houses with a balcony or terrace overlooking the farmland and mountains beyond. Inside the décor is contemporary in style with cosy wood-burning fireplace and modern ensuite bathrooms. The emphasis here is on taking in the farmland experience and trekking the surrounds.
