Alila Villas Uluwatu is a collection of luxury villas, set high on an elevated plateau at the southern coast of Bali, Indonesia. Designed by Singapore firm WOHA, the resort features an innovative architecture adapting an environmentally sustainable design and EarthCheck operating standards. All villas have recycled materials such as wood from railway sleepers and telephone poles, and use of lava rock, bamboo ceilings and large windows to minimize use of lights and air-conditioning.
The Alila accommodations ranges from one-bedroom pool villas to three-bedroom cliffside pool villas. Even the lead-in, one-bedroom option has a smart open-plan design and comes with a full-size private pool, an outdoor pavilion, a gigantic plush king-size bed, indoor and outdoor dining areas and a Jacuzzi bathtub. Bathroom amenities are high-end and set for ultimate indulgence, while rooms have oversized LED TVs with satellite channels, a DVD player, and an espresso coffee machine.
Three dining options at the Alila Villas Uluwatu serve a range of cuisines from authentic Indonesian and Balinese delicacies to gourmet comfort food and a fine-dining indoor restaurant serving international cuisine. The Alila Spa offers a range of different pampering Asian and Western treatments and there are opportunities plenty for activities or lounging on a beach. Nearby highlights include Uluwatu, an important sea temple and white-sand beaches.

When to go Straddling the equator, Indonesia tends to have a fairly even climate year-round. Rather than four seasons, Indonesia has two – dry (between May to September) and wet (between October to April) – and there are no extremes of temperature between winter and summer. In most parts of Indonesia, the wet season falls between October and April and the dry season between May and September.
