Capella Singapore is a deluxe 5-star hotel, located on the island of Sentosa. Sentosa, which is Malay for "peace and tranquillity," is a resort island located off Singapore's southern coast. It’s home to a number of beaches and attractions, including Universal Studios Singapore. Set across 30 acres of verdant gardens and grounds, and replicating most of the 19th-century architecture, colours and stonework, this unique hotel offers a peaceful respite from the buzz of Singapore's city centre.
The property integrates two Tanah Merah military buildings and a new extension with 112 rooms representing the East-meets-West spirit so commonly associated with Singapore. The façade of the building is colonial, but the interiors are very modern, with snazzy pools courtesy of renowned Indonesian designer Jaya Ibrahim. Capella Singapore was chosen as the location for talks between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in June 2018.
Dining options at the Capella Singapore include two restaurants serving Malay, Chinese and Indian cuisines and there’s a Bob’s Bar that serves the usual suspects, along with regionally inspired cocktails. The award-wining Auriga spa, renowned for its signature treatments is known to be one of the best in Singapore. The triple-tiered cascading pool is gorgeous in design and well-attended and there is a beautiful beach nearby, all of which makes this hotel perfect for couples and families.
Stay Capella Singapore has 112 rooms, suites, villas and manors. All are spacious starting with 77 sqm, elegantly furnished in modern style, spacious bath and a private balcony. Premier rooms are designed for couples of which Constellation Room with an expansive balcony with a private Jacuzzi is ideal for honeymooners. Those seeking more space can book Sentosa Suites. There are also one- to three-bedroom suites, each of which feature a private plunge pool and living area.
ChildCare Families with children are welcome to stay at the Capella Singapore but there are no specific facilities like kids club available. Some of the rooms including the spacious Sentosa Suites can take a cot and extra bed for an additional charge. There are also two or three-bedroom villas, ideal for families or groups of friends. Babysitting service can be arranged, upon request.
Dine There are two gourmet restaurants and a bar at the Capella Singapore. The all-day Knolls is the hotel’s de facto breakfast venue but at lunch and dinner, it morphs into a hip restaurant that offers an East meets West menu. Cassia, designed by Andre Fu is a chic fine-dining Chinese restaurant, while the Library offers complimentary coffee and tea on Wedgewood bone china all day. At dusk, Bob’s Bar is the place to be for sunset drinks.
Relax Relax at the full-service Auriga spa, where you can enjoy massages, body treatments, and facials. Renowned for its signature treatments based on the cycles of the moon, it uses only natural and organic products for its extensive menu of services. There is a triple-tiered cascading pool and the one on the top is adults-only and further down is the beautiful Siloso beach.
Experience Sentosa is an island that boasts Universal Studios Singapore, golf courses and beautiful beaches. Guests at the Capella Singapore have preferential access to the world-class, members-only Sentosa Golf Club. In the surrounds are a variety of cycling trails for all levels from a light and breezy day by the bay, to endurance courses. Families will enjoy Gardens by the Bay; an award-winning horticultural destination offers awe-inspiring waterfront views.

When to go Any time’s a good time to go to Singapore. Practically on the equator, Singapore is constantly warm (the temperature never drops below 20°C) and humid and gets fairly steady year-round rainfall. The wettest months are supposedly November to January, when it’s also a degree or two cooler, while the driest are supposedly May to July, but in reality there is little distinction between the seasons.
