The Apricot Hotel, Hanoi

The Apricot is a privately-owned boutique hotel, set in the heart of Hanoi. Housed within the 1920s neoclassical style structure are 123 rooms and suites, some with terraces overlooking the beautiful Hoan Kiem Lake. Inside the décor is ostentatious; marble floors, glittering chandeliers and reproduction furniture. But located near Hanoi's Old Quarter, and close to streets filled with restaurants, bars and local shops, it makes a perfect base from which to explore the city.

Stay

The Apricot features 123 rooms and suites. These are grouped in six different categories, from Sketch rooms with courtyard views, to studio apartments with living rooms and kitchenettes, to the large Masterpiece suites overlooking the lake. All are similarly decorated with fresh white walls, contemporary Vietnamese art and faux-antique telephones. Some of the rooms have terraces with small gardens which is rather unique in Hanoi and offer a welcoming outside space.

ChildCare

Families with children are welcome to stay at The Apricot, but there are no specific facilities for children. Babysitting service can be arranged, upon request.

Dine

L’Artiste, the Apricot’s on-premise restaurant with an elegant décor offers a fine dining experience with an open-style kitchen where chefs create classic masterpieces cooked to order. Complementing the restaurant is the A’telier teahouse, where you can discover a unique collection of first class teas, the Palette restaurant offers Southeast Asian cuisine and One36 bar on the rooftop terrace overlooks the lake and Hanoi’s skyline.

Relax

Situated on the 10th-floor, the Apricot Hotel has the only rooftop pool in the heart of Hanoi. It’s an oasis of peace and luxury where you can cool off in the afternoon heat then relax on the sun loungers overlooking the Hoan Kiem Lake below. There is also a bar to keep you hydrated but which transforms into a buzzing spot late in the evenings. There is also a small Spa L’Art and a fitness centre.

Experience

Hanoi is a stylish, European-influenced metropolis with manicured lakeside promenades, tree-lined boulevards, ancient pagodas and French-colonial buildings. Most travellers pay their obligatory visits to Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum and the Temple of Literature but fail to realise the increased attention contemporary Vietnamese art is attracting in the West. Set within walking distance of The Apricot is Mai Gallery and Apricot Gallery both run by Tran Phuong Mai and worth visiting.
