The Park Hyatt in Saigon is located at the famous Lam Son Square and near the city’s main tourist attractions. This gleaming upscale hotel with colonial accents – dark wood, light paint and wrought-iron – is juxtaposed with the contemporary elements of glass & steel. Rooms have wooden furniture with old fashioned shutters overlooking the historic Opera house. And the popular lobby has overflowing vases of huge white lilies, specially flown in from Dalat.
Newly renovated, the Park Hyatt in Saigon has a fresh and radiant glow of glistening set of whites and ivories. There is a brighter ambiance, with crystal chandeliers reflecting the sunlight peeking through the tall white window shutters. There are five fine dining restaurants, bars and cafes including the relaxed Opera Restaurant known for fabulous Italian cuisine and Square One favourite for its Vietnamese and Western food prepared in the open kitchens.
The hotel boasts an impressive spa, a fitness centre and a beautiful 20-metre outdoor swimming pool set in a landscaped tropical garden. The hotel offers cooking classes for guests who like to learn Vietnamese cuisine. In the surrounds of the Park Hyatt in Saigon, are ancient temples, museums and markets to find bargains. Day tours to include Cu Chi Tunnels or Mekong Delta can be arranged.

When to go The best time to visit Vietnam is from November to March, when it is warm and dry in the South but begins to get cooler as you travel north of Nha Trang. From April or May to October, summer monsoon brings hot, humid weather except in the mountains up north. A slight break in monsoon during July and August makes it the second-high season in the South but unpredictable typhoons can hit central and northern Vietnam. May, June and September are usually the quietest months.
