Paradise Luxury is a traditional-style wooden boat, based in UNESCO protected Halong Bay, northeast Vietnam. There are just 15 cabins, split over two floor decks, all recently renovated with dark wood flooring and handmade furnishings. Facilities onboard include a gourmet restaurant offering royal banquets of traditional Vietnamese and Western cuisine. There is also a Spa with a massage cabin offering a variety of therapies and daily excursions by English-speaking guides.
Amenities
Stay Paradise Luxury features just 11 cabins and 4 suites, ranging between 16 and 23 sqm. All are decorated in dark polished woods with cream walls and soft furnishings, double or twin beds and floor-to-ceiling windows. Some have private balconies with comfortable seating for superb views of the rugged limestone and shimmering waters of Halong Bay. The spacious suites come with marble bathrooms, LCD TVs, DVD players, mini-bars and private forward-facing terraces.
ChildCare Families with children are welcome to stay aboard the Paradise Luxury but there are no specific facilities available for children, however inter-connecting cabins are available for families. It is worth being aware that some of the sites you will visit have lots of steps, some of which are steep and can be uneven. Children will love the excitement of an ocean adventure but safety of children remains the responsibility of parents.
Dine Paradise Luxury, along with its sister cruises are the only Ha Long Bay ships that offer royal banquets. Inspired by the kings and queens of the ancient Imperial City of Hue, Paradise Luxury guests can dress in the Bao Dai style for the Paradise Royal dinner. Guests dress up in robes fit for a king and a queen and indulge in a six-course meal with a choice of either authentic Vietnamese cuisine or international dishes from the à la carte menu.
Relax Facilities on board Paradise Luxury include a terrace bar serving cocktails, teas, juices and quality wines. There is a world-class La Perfume Spa with a massage cabin that offers a variety of facial, body and foot treatments by fully trained therapists who will work their magic and pamper you for the ultimate in relaxation. There is also a lounge on the upper deck with comfortable seating and a bar with sun loungers.
Experience All excursions aboard the Paradise Luxury are undertaken by an English-speaking guide and usually includes venturing into some of the bay's hidden caves like Sung Sot Cave and climbing to the top of Titop Island or one of the karsts to take in an elevated view. Guests on longer itineraries may also visit Cua Van, the largest fishing village in Halong Bay, surrounded by karst limestone mountains and islets and the Luon Cave, an open-air cave, accessed by a small boat.
Location 170 kilometres from Hanoi, in northeastern Vietnam, Halong Bay is a UNESCO World Heritage site and undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places on earth.
Getting there 15-hour international flight (one change) to Hanoi's Noi Bai International Airport followed by a 3-hour drive to Halong Bay.
When to go The best time of year to visit Halong Bay is during the spring or autumn. Because the bay is situated in the northern part of the country, it can get colder in the winter. The rainy season here is at its peak in July to September. July is the hottest month, January the coolest. The dry season runs from November to April.
