Emeralda Resort Ninh Binh is an eco-friendly retreat, set on the edge of Van Long Natural Reserve just outside of Ninh Binh town, in central Vietnam. Located about two hours drive south of Hanoi, the serene retreat features traditional Vietnamese elements, surrounded by lush greenery and misty karst mountain-cliffs. There are 172 villa-style rooms, set within nine clusters, some of which have their own swimming pool and a BBQ area. At the heart of the property are two outdoor pool, two restaurants, a small spa with daily Tai Chi and yoga and options for outdoor excursions.

Stay Emeralda Ninh Binh Resort features 172 villa-style rooms arranged in 9 low-level clusters to resemble traditional Northern Vietnamese villages. All are spacious in size with rich wood works, large windows, comfortable beds set on wooden platforms and spacious bathrooms with big bathtubs and separate showers. The lead-in Superior Rooms are light and airy while the Deluxe Rooms are larger and feature a private terrace with garden views. Room amenities include a mini bar, refrigerator and TV with cable/ satellite channels.
ChildCare Families with children are welcome to stay at the Emeralda Ninh Binh Resort. The Duplex Rooms are open plan two-storeys and are ideal for families, as these have a double and a twin room, with a shared bathroom downstairs. There is a good size pool, including a shallow children's area and lots of adventurous activities nearby. The resort has a kid’s play area and babysitting service is available upon request.
Dine There are two restaurants at the Emeralda Ninh Binh Resort. Sen Restaurant with traditional lotus artwork on the walls and overlooking the resort grounds serves traditional dishes from Vietnamese three culinary regions. Health conscious guests will love the Organic Restaurant offering an a la carte menu featuring Asian cuisine and Western specialties together with some great French dishes There is also a lovely pool bar and Wine Bar with a collection of labels from both the old and new worlds.
Relax Leisure facilities include the La Cochinchine Spa, which offers a wide range of therapies and pampering treatments. There are two indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a mini golf course that sits in the garden and a well-equipped fitness centre. Guests can also participate in cooking classes using fresh, local produce or take a tour on a cow cart. With a strong environmental philosophy, the resort uses natural materials to keep the resort as environmentally friendly as possible.
Experience Ninh Binh, located two hours south of Hanoi is attracting much interest due to its beautiful karst mountain landscapes, ancient temples and authentic rural villages. Emeralda Ninh Binh Resort organises excellent guided boat trips at Tam Coc, called ‘The Halong Bay of the Rice Fields’ with stunning limestone karst towers. Nearby is Hoa Lu, once the capital of Vietnam at the end of the first millennium and Cuc Phuong National Park known for its lush mountain rainforest with more than 300 birds and 100 mammal species, including tigers, leopards, and the unique red-bellied squirrel.

Getting there Emeralda is located approximately 2 hours from Hanoi by car. Hanoi has an international airport with an 11 hour direct flight from London.
When to go The best time to visit Northern Vietnam is from February to April and September to November avoiding the heat and the rain. The official peak season in Vietnam is from September to April as these months see the least rain. December to February are the cooler months. May to September is the rainy season with the most rain failing in July and August and typhoons are possible.
