Karachi

Upon your arrival in Karachi, the bustling metropolis of Pakistan, you'll have some time to settle in and get acquainted with your surroundings. For those who arrive earlier in the day, there is an opportunity to explore some of the city's iconic landmarks. You can visit the Mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam, which houses the tomb of Pakistan's founding father, and the majestic Mohatta Palace, a beautiful museum showcasing art and culture. These visits offer a glimpse into the rich history and heritage of Karachi. Afterward, retire for the night and relax.

DAY 2

Hyderabad

Today, you'll embark on a fascinating day trip from Karachi to Hyderabad, with several historic stops along the way. First, visit the ancient town of Thatta and the Necropolis of Makli Hills, a UNESCO World Heritage site that boasts an impressive collection of monumental tombs. Next, explore the remarkable Chaukundi tombs, known for their intricate stone carvings. On the way, we’ll visit the ruins of Bhanbore, an ancient port town significant for being one of the first places where Islam entered the subcontinent. After a full day of exploration, you’ll continue onwards to Hyderabad.

DAY 3

Sehwan Sharif

After breakfast, we’ll journey from Hyderabad to the spiritual city of Sehwan Sharif, making a stop along the way at the awe-inspiring Ranikot Fort, often referred to as the "Great Wall of Sindh" due to its massive size. Once we reach Sehwan Sharif, you'll visit the highly revered shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar, a sufi saint who draws devotees from all over Pakistan. This sacred site is known for its spiritual atmosphere and the continuous stream of visitors offering their respects. After exploring this significant location, you will unwind and prepare for the next leg of the journey.

DAY 4

Sukkur

Today, the tour takes you to one of the most important archaeological sites in the world, Moenjodaro, a well-preserved city from the ancient Indus Valley Civilisation. Dating back to 2500–1500 BC, Moenjodaro offers insights into one of the earliest urban settlements in history. Explore the city’s main stupa, granary, baths, and residential areas, which highlight the advanced planning of this civilisation. There is also a museum that houses additional artefacts. Later, visit the Kot Diji Fort near Khairpur, a historic fortress with incredible views. After a day steeped in history, we head to Sukkur.

DAY 5

Bahawalpur

Prepare for a long day as we set out for Bahawalpur. The journey begins with a visit to Uch Sharif, a town known for its centuries-old sufi shrines, reflecting the spiritual and architectural heritage of the region. From there, we’ll continue into the expansive Cholistan Desert to explore the magnificent 8th-century Derawar Fort, an imposing structure that rises out of the desert sands. After marvelling at this ancient stronghold, we conclude the day by making our way to the city of Bahawalpur, where you can relax after this extensive day of sightseeing.

DAY 6

Multan

In the morning, we will set off on a scenic drive from Bahawalpur to the historic city of Multan, often referred to as the "City of Shrines" due to its large number of mausoleums and spiritual sites. Once we arrive, you will have the afternoon to explore Multan’s rich heritage. The city is renowned for its connection to pirs and saints, and you will visit some of the most important mausoleums, including the shrines of Bahauddin Zakariya and Shah Rukn-e-Alam. The city’s spiritual atmosphere and ancient architecture offer a unique insight into its Sufi traditions.

DAY 7

Lahore

After breakfast, the journey continues as we drive from Multan to Lahore, one of Pakistan's most vibrant and culturally rich cities. En route, we will stop at the Harappa archaeological site, which offers an incredible opportunity to explore the remains of a 4000-year-old city from the Indus Valley Civilisation. This visit provides a fascinating glimpse into the advanced urban planning and culture of one of the world’s earliest civilisations. Upon arriving in Lahore, you’ll have the option to visit local Sufi shrines in the evening, where you can witness the hypnotic spinning of mystics to the rhythm of the Dohl drum.

DAY 8

Lahore

Today, you will immerse yourself in the history and culture of Lahore, starting with a visit to the heart of the old city. Explore the narrow alleyways that are alive with activity, leading to significant landmarks such as the impressive Badshahi Mosque, once the largest mosque in the medieval world. You'll also visit the Lahore Museum, home to an extensive collection of art and historical artefacts, and the beautifully decorated Wazir Khan Mosque, renowned for its intricate tile work. A stop at Lahore Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site, will complete your day of exploration.

DAY 9

Lahore

On your second day in Lahore, after some additional exploration of the city's vibrant streets and cultural landmarks, we will take a short afternoon trip to the Wagah Border, located just outside the city. Here, you’ll witness the famous daily flag-lowering ceremony, a unique display of military precision and patriotism performed by both Indian and Pakistani border guards. This ceremony draws large crowds, creating an electric atmosphere as both nations’ flags are lowered in a choreographed display of discipline and tradition. The day will end back in Lahore, where you can reflect on the experience.

DAY 10

Lahore - Departure

On the final day of your tour, you'll have some free time in Lahore to relax or do any last-minute sightseeing before your onward journey. Lahore, with its rich history and vibrant culture, has much to offer, and whether it's a final visit to one of the city’s many landmarks or a leisurely walk through its bustling streets, this will be the perfect way to conclude your adventure. Once ready, you will be transferred to the airport or your next destination, bringing this memorable journey through Pakistan to a close.

The idea of a road trip appealed to us as it allows for a more intimate exploration of the diverse landscapes and communities that define Pakistan, from the bustling metropolis of Karachi to the cultural epicentre of Lahore.

We were particularly motivated by the richness of Pakistan's spiritual and cultural heritage, which is often overshadowed by its more famous neighbours. By curating a journey that includes both iconic landmarks and lesser-known sites, we sought to provide an authentic experience that reveals the country’s true character, blending adventure with meaningful cultural engagement.
