Sukhothai, Bangkok

The Sukhothai is a stylish hotel, located on South Sathorn, near Lumphini Park in Central Bangkok. The hotel takes its design cues from the legendary capital of 14th-century Siam, with magnificent stupas and pagodas, re-imagined in comfortable modern forms. The Zen atmosphere is carried through to the 210 guest rooms and suites, decorated with Thai Silks, teak wood and earthy colour palette. Gourmet restaurants serve authentic Thai and classic Italian cuisine, while the large outdoor pool and tranquil indulgent spa offer a good reason to spend an extra day at this urban oasis.

Stay

The Sukhothai Bangkok features 210 rooms and suites that range from 38 to 198 square meters. All are elegantly decorated with teakwood furnishings, silky Thai fabrics and a muted earthy colour palette. The lead-in Superior and Courtyard Rooms are spacious but those seeking more space can opt for Executive, Deluxe or Sukhothai Suite, all of which are very spacious and private, have lounge areas and many have balconies or sun terraces. Amenities include air-conditioning, 40-inch LED TVs with satellite channels, deep soaking baths and designer toiletries.

ChildCare

Families with children are welcome to stay at The Sukhothai Bangkok. There are interconnecting rooms and all the suites are large enough to accommodate an extra child. Babysitting service can be arranged, upon request.

Dine

The multiple culinary options at the Sukhothai are some of the best Bangkok has to offer. Celadon, the hotel’s signature restaurant, floating on a man-made island surrounded by lotus pond, provides a serene setting for classic Thai cuisine. La Scala is a fine-dining Italian eatery offering pizza, pasta and salads, and Colonnade is famed for its endless Sunday brunch with a splendid choice of seafood and there are bars and cafes.

Relax

Refresh the senses at the infinity-edged outdoor 25-metre swimming pool or soak in the Jacuzzi after a thrilling game of tennis at the health club. But for ultimate pampering, visit the Spa Botanica, The Sukhothai’s haven of innovative wellness practices perfected from graceful Thai traditions.

Experience

The Sukhothai's concierge will be more than happy to help about Bangkok’s most revered historic treasures, including the Grand Palace, the Temple of the Dawn (Wat Arun) and the Temple of the Reclining Buddha (Wat Po). Experience the economic underbelly of Thailand with a ride through its floating markets or visit the Maeklong Railway Market, set on active train tracks. Watch the hawkers clear the tracks, seconds before the trains passes through the market, a photographer’s dream.
