Sisindu T is a charming villa, set amidst the rolling hills and dense greenery, near Galle on Sri Lanka’s southwestern coast. This magnificent villa is the brainchild of a British couple, who have an eye for a perfect location, for it enjoys the sweeping view of the sea on one side, and the emerald jungle on the other. The interior design is created by Sri Lankan architect Sunela Jayawardene, who blends the natural surroundings with stylish Dutch-period antiques, colourful furnishings and local artwork.
Set on an elevated position on an eight-acre tea plantation, Sisindu T comprises of just six huge bedrooms. Each are inherently unique and come with a balcony or veranda overlooking the Indian Ocean in the distance. Guests seeking more space can splash out on a Master Suite with a living area and families can opt for a self-contained Jungle Room with two double beds. With a 7-member staff including a Chef at your disposal, there will enough time to relax and explore the surrounds.
There is a lovely balance of indoor and outdoor living. At the heart of Sisindu T – the ‘T’ a play on the word ‘tea plantation’, is a huge open-air living and dining areas surround a magnificent kitchen. Expect a kitchen counter with an eight-stools and a twelve-seater dining table overlooking the beautiful garden. And, there is a stunning infinity edged L-shaped swimming pool, from which one can enjoy wonderful views of the surrounding area.

When to go Sri Lanka is a year-round destination with consistently warm temperatures and lots of sunshine. There are two monsoon seasons but they only bring rain to the west and south-west coasts from May to September; and the east coast and northern region between October and February. The rest of the year is sunny and dry but the months of December to April are probably the best time to visit. Colombo and the low-lying coastal regions have an average temperature of 27°C.
