Cape Weligama has 40 villas and suites. All rooms in Cape Weligama are bathed in a primary colour palette with touches of rattan and beds so sizeable you might almost get lost in them. The huge bathrooms feature freestanding tubs and wooden furnishings. Junior and Master Suites, can be interconnected. Five types of Ocean View Villas are at an elevation to provide the unfettered views of the Indian Ocean and have a semi-private 15m infinity swimming pool. Duplex Two Bedroom Cape Pool Villa has two king bedrooms.

ChildCare 

Children of all ages are welcome to stay at the Cape Weligama Resort. There are villas with two rooms which can be connected and work well for families. There’s plenty of things for kids including the family-orientated Cove Pool, set close to the beach.

The three restaurants at Cape Weligama, set on lofty wooden structures, rule out the possibility of culinary claustrophobia. The à la carte breakfast offers a bounty of freshly baked local favourites. Lunch at De Mauny Pavilion on the “Pola” (meaning market) is a treat: choose from the fresh seafood stacked on ice, then watch the chefs turn them into delicious dishes. Dinner choices include Sri Lankan curries at open-air Kumbuk or take your date to the classic Misaki, a 12-seater teppanyaki restaurant.

Enjoy the fames of Sri Lanka spa treatments in your own private space or opt for a ‘spa day’, at the Cape Weligama Resort’s dedicated Spa Villa. Organic homegrown spice scrubs and essential oil massage blends are known for antioxidant, anti-ageing and calming properties. Then relax in the flagship Moon Pool that hugs the headland and seamlessly merges with the Indian Ocean. Besides swimming in one of the resort’s two pools there are host of activities available. 

Experience 

On the Weligama’s East Beach, the Dive Centre, staffed by an experienced international team of professionals, offers a comprehensive range of PADI dive courses, including private sunset cruises, big game fishing and banana boating. In the surrounds, explore lush rural hinterland of local villages, paddy fields, meandering lagoons and ancient temples by guided bicycle ride. Take a boat or kayak out on nearby Koggala Lake, its tranquil lagoon edged by fragrant cinnamon gardens and tropical wildlife.
