Jungle Beach by Uga Escapes 48 luxurious villas. Each of the spacious 60sqm villa are tucked within a lush forest and are crafted from indigenous materials with high open-beamed ceilings covered with thatched roofs. Inside, the décor is contemporary in style; polished wooden floors, king-size beds and chic, modern bathrooms with outdoor rain showers. Most have private decks or balconies overlooking the forest with upper level rooms catching the glorious sunsets.

Families with children are welcome to stay at Jungle Beach by Uga Escapes. Baby cots are free for children of 3 years and below. Extra beds are provided for children of 12 years and above for a small cost. Children activities include kids' yoga, toys and bikes to borrow, water polo and crab hunting.
Dine
The open-air restaurant pavilion at the Jungle Beach serves international cuisine and a range of Sri Lankan dishes with an emphasis on local seafood. Chef Vichalya Fernando crafts succulent seafood platters prepared from the fresh catch of the day and a range of Western and Sri Lankan curries prepared with locally sourced organic products. The adjacent bar serves a range of beverages including the house special, “Wild Toddy” - spiced Arak sipped through a cinnamon straw.
Relax
Facilities at the Jungle Beach include a beautiful swimming pool and a luxurious Uga spa, set in a secluded spot between the jungle and the sea. There are two open-air treatment rooms, where guests can indulge in Swedish and Balinese massages, facials, and Ayurvedic treatments. Couples’ treatments are available on request, and a spa therapist can be summoned to your villa. There is also a well-equipped gym, while yoga and meditation sessions are held during high season.
Experience
Kuchchaveli is a small quiet village in a largely unexplored northeast corner of Sri Lanka. Guests at the Jungle Beach can choose to swim in the calm sea, go snorkelling to see the reef fish or venture further out to sea to watch whales and dolphins, off the coast of Nilaveli in the Indian Ocean. Visit Kokkilai bird sanctuary, home to the endangered Black-necked Stork, pelicans and migratory birds. Other activities include cycle rides, water sports and Trinco city tour.

Getting there Fly to Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo and then it is an hour seaplane journey to Trinco.
When to go From May to August the Yala monsoon brings rain to the island’s southwestern half. The southwest has the highest rainfall – up to 4000mm a year. There is also an inter-monsoonal period in October and November when rain can occur in many parts of the island. The sea stays at around 27°C all year. Climatically speaking, the driest (and best) seasons in the Northeastern half of Sri Lanka are from May to August and for the west and south coasts, December to March.
