Jungle Beach Resort by Uga Escapes is a luxurious beach hotel, set on a strip of scrub jungle between a tropical lagoon and the Indian Ocean. Situated in a secluded location, outside the village of Kuchchaveli on Sri Lanka's unspoilt north-east coast, this eco-friendly resort offers a true castaway experience. Reached by a 30-min drive from the former Dutch colony of Trincomalee, it is a perfect destination for honeymooners, wildlife watchers and those wanting to explore remote Sri Lanka.
Spread within its 10-acres site, Jungle Beach Resort has 48 luxurious treehouse-style villas. All are built with local materials, are spacious in size and offer a very private and relaxed atmosphere. The resort’s treehouse-style restaurant with ambient lantern lighting, serves international and authentic Sri Lankan cuisine. Nearby, is the beautiful pool with sun loungers and within a short walking distance is the resort’s spectacular 4km of unspoilt beach.
The north-east coast of Sri Lanka remains largely unexplored and Jungle Beach Resort offers an excellent choice to explore its wilderness. Guests can go snorkelling with reef fish, diving with whales, jet skiing, or sailing off the coast of Kuchchaveli. Visit the hilltop Koneswaram temple, which attracts both Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims, the Lover’s Leap or relax in the hot springs at Kannya, which has a beautiful legend connected to the mythical king of Lanka, Ravana.
