Malikha Lodge Putao

Malikha Lodge is one of our finest hotels, set in the remote town of Putao in the northernmost Kachin State of Myanmar. Designed by Jean Michel Gathy, noted for his work with Aman Hotels, this chic and stylish lodge is perfectly set to blend with the natural surroundings. Perched above the Nam Lang River are just 15 bungalows, offering stunning views of the snow-capped Himalayan peaks beyond. The resort is popular with trekking groups and those who like to explore remote Myanmar.

Stay 

Malikha Lodge comprises of just 15 bungalows. Each are spacious (150 sqm), traditional in style with a thatched roof and raised off the ground. Inside, rooms are furnished with polished hardwood, kingsize beds, vaulted ceilings and a spacious living area, with a large handcrafted teak bathtub and a fireplace, creating a sense of indulgence and luxury. Outside, there is a wide teak balcony with comfy chairs and private daybeds to enjoy distant views of the mountains and the forest. 

ChildCare 

Families with children are welcome to stay at the Malikha Lodge but there are no specific facilities available for children. 

Dine 

The in-house restaurant at the Malikha Lodge serves a wide selection of local and international cuisines with a particular focus on traditional and Italian cuisines. Meals are prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients and served in the dining area or al fresco on candle-lit tables. With advance notice, special dietary requirements or special events can be catered for.

Relax 

Indulge in a soothing massage treatment at the Malikha Lodge’s Spa set in Spa Bungalow, surrounded by the bamboo forest or in the privacy of your room. Alternatively, relax on the day bed outside your bungalow or in the main lounge. 

Experience 

Putao is located near the northern tip of Myanmar, close to the eastern end of the Himalayas. Malikha Lodge offers a perfect base from which travellers can explore the surrounding areas generally observed on treks that typically start from 4 days/3 nights. Surrounded by subtropical rainforest and jagged peaks, it is home to a myriad of different cultures and religions, which makes it an interesting objective to explore the region.

Location Malikha Lodge is located in Putao in the far north of Burma, right under snow-capped Himalayan peaks.

Getting there Fly from either Yangon or Mandalay to Putao.

When to go The best time to visit Burma is during the dry season from November to April. At this time the warm and sunny days are ideal for sightseeing throughout the country. The temperatures start to rise in March, and May to September is best avoided as this is the rainy season when sightseeing can become difficult.
