The Hotel by the Red Canal is a boutique style hotel, situated along the historic Red Canal. Located at a convenient distance from the main attractions of the city, it is surrounded by lush tropical greenery and calming water features. Built across two colonial style buildings and made up of three floors, it reflects a charming atmosphere of a large local family house or a community. The highlight of the hotel is its free-form swimming pool shaded with palm trees, providing a convenient sanctuary in the busy Mandalay city.
This small and charming family run hotel along the Red Canal has only 24 rooms and suites. The rooms are named after the four major states of Burma with the Chin and Shan Rooms facing internally, while Kachin and Rakhine rooms are at the rear of the hotel, some with an outdoor shower. All rooms are tastefully designed, with traditional ethnic artefacts and textiles a hallmark of each room.
The Hotel by the Red Canal is home to the reputable Spice Garden restaurant, renowned for its Indian cuisine throughout Mandalay. It also boasts well-maintained gardens a small pool and a gym. In hotel is close to many historical sites including the famed Mandalay Palace, Shwenandaw Monastery and U Bein Bridge.

Location The Hotel by The Red Canal in Mandalay, is a small boutique hotel located in the centre of Mandalay, near the famed Mandalay Palace and the city’s many attractions. Set not far from the Mandalay Palace, it is ideally placed to explore and experience day-to-day life in Mandalay.
Getting There Yangon airport has undergone a major renovation and facilitates both international and domestic terminals. There are daily flights from Yangon and Bagan to Mandalay during the tourist season from October to May. It takes about one hour and thirty minutes by air from Yangon.
When to go The best time to visit Myanmar is between October and April when the weather is dry and not so hot. At this time the warm and sunny days are ideal for sightseeing throughout the country. The temperatures start to rise in March and May to September is best avoided as this is the rainy season when sightseeing can become difficult.
