Stay

Amara Mountain Resort features just 10 rooms housed in two colonial style buildings. Each are individually decorated with both Asian and European touches; polished wooden floors, four-poster beds draped in mosquito nets and a writing table. Rooms have a working fire-place used during chilly winter months, creating a cosy alpine resort atmosphere. Spacious bathrooms come with a rain shower or a bathtub, while large windows open out to gorgeous views of the gardens.

ChildCare

Families with children are welcome to stay at the Amara Mountain Resort. Children below 12 years can stay free of charge in parent’s room using existing accommodation. Breakfast is complimentary for children under 4 and at 50% of the cost for all meals. There are no babysitting services available.

Dine

The in-house restaurant at the Amara Mountain Resort serves a fusion of traditional, Asian and some Western cuisines. Meals are prepared with fresh ingredients either locally sourced or from their own organic garden. Daytime meals are served on a communal table in the dining room on the veranda and evening meals on the al fresco terrace by lantern light around a warm brazier. There is also a well-stocked bar serving beers, wines and spirits.

Relax

Every building has a comfy communal area with fireplaces and sofas for relaxing and there is a beautiful garden surrounding Amara Mountain Resort with ample spaces to relax.

Experience

Kalaw is a hill town in the Shan State of Myanmar with a refreshing climate and scenic views. Guests at the Amara Mountain Resort can visit the Aung Ban market that comes alive every five days when locals from surrounding villages come down to sell their products. The emphasis here is on the great outdoors, with mountain biking, bird watching and golf available as well as trekking. Further afield are Pindaya caves with their thousands of Buddha statues, and popular Green Elephant Camp.
