The Oberoi Motor Vessel Vrinda, Kerala

The Oberoi Motor Vessel Vrinda is a luxury boat that cruises the Keralan backwaters, departing from Vembanad jetty, in the south of Cochin. Built from a mixture of noble woods for decking, bamboo interiors for fixtures and topped with palm fronds canopy for shading the deck, this large boat blends perfectly with its smaller rice boats that are generally used for discovering the backwaters.

The Keralan backwaters are beautiful. Narrow palm-fringed waterways that wind inland from the coast towards Vembanad lake, cutting through fertile paddy fields and lush farmland. Motor Vessel Vrinda sails from Vembanad Lake jetty on a three- or four-day itineraries from October through April. It offers just eight spacious cabins, providing ultimate luxury, high-quality service, multi-cuisine and best experience of Kerala’s famous backwaters.

Gourmet meals on the Oberoi Motor Vessel Vrinda are served al fresco, in the cool breeze refreshing the tropical heat as you watch the sun set over lake Vembanad. Breakfasts include fresh fruit, coffee and fluffy rice pancake with traditional Idli and the equally copious lunches are followed by chocolate brownies and oozing hot chocolate sauce. Daily trips take guests to explore the backwaters near Alleppey, and in the evenings, there are Kathakali the traditional Keralan dances.
