The Kumarakom Lake Resort is located on the banks of the Lake Vembanad in Kerala. Surrounded by mangroves, paddy fields and pepper trees, the Kumarakom Lake Resort’s 39 villas beside a winding pool, are a careful reconstruction of ‘Mana’, a 16th-century heritage home. Each duplex Meandering Pool Villas possess direct access to the pool from its very own bathing cove and private sit-outs. Heritage Villas, built in the style of the traditional homestead of Kerala, has its own private courtyard with a private pool and Jacuzzi. These come with either garden or lake view.
Dining options at the Kumarakom Lake Resort include Ettukettu, serving an array of both local and international cuisine, Vembanad, specialises in seafood cuisine and Thattukada café serves teas and snacks. Location Kumarakom Lake resort is located in the village of Kumarakom, on the banks of lake Vembanad. Tucked peacefully away on the idyllic island of Kumarakom, this heritage retreat is a perfect base from which to explore Kerala’s backwaters and rich birdlife.
Getting There The nearest Airport to Kumarakom is the Cochin International Airport, about 70 km away from the Muhamma boat jetty. The second nearest airport is at Trivandrum, 171 km away. Alternatively, it is connected to other areas in India by train and main highways.
When to go The best time to travel to Kerala is between November and March when temperatures are ideal for the beach and backwaters, while the hills offer a cooler alternative. Summer is hot and humid. June brings in the monsoon season that lasts up to mid-August but it's supposed to be the best time for ayurvedic treatments. During August and September, the temperatures are cooler and it is time for Onam festival. There can be a little rain in the night in October and November.
