Fort Seengh Sagar, Rajasthan

Fort Seengh Sagar is a fortress hotel, set in the middle of a lake outside the village of Deogarh in rural Rajasthan. This small blissful hotel is fully staffed and equipped with all the necessities required for a comfortable stay for a group or a family. Situated in a peaceful location and approachable only by a boat or a small bridge, it forms a perfect respite for guests looking for a small property to hire exclusively while travelling between Jodhpur and Udaipur.

Surrounded by a moat, Fort Seengh Sagar houses just four large bedrooms. A sweeping terrace and turreted balconies offer spectacular views across the lake to the surrounding countryside. While the interiors are fit for a maharajah and queen: Indian rosewood beds, red-and-gold quilts, copper washbasins. Executive chef prepares regional dishes at the fort's Surya Mahal restaurant, though guests can also dine at the sister Deogarh Mahal hotel, where traditional Mewari cuisine is served.
