Marari Beach Resort is a village-style beachfront resort, set in 36 acres of parkland, on Kerala’s southwestern coast. Surrounded with lush vegetation of coconut groves and swaying palms, breadfruit and Chinese guava trees and a cacophony of exotic nocturnal sounds, this eco-friendly resort serves as a tranquil and beautiful retreat. Located about 60 km south of Cochin, it is an ideal alternative to Kovalam for guests who are visiting the backwaters around Alleppey.
The open-sided, village style Marari Beach Resort with wickerwork thatched roofs, houses 62 cottages. There are four different room categories. Garden rooms are spacious with a small seating area, indoor/outdoor bathrooms and private verandas. Pool Villas have their own plunge pools within a walled courtyard while Deluxe Pool Villas have their own pools. All rooms are air conditioned and feature minibar and tea and coffee making facilities and have a private garden.
Dining options at the Marari Beach Resort include a choice of regional and continental cuisine. The main restaurant, Chakara, serves both continental and Keralan dishes and there is a seafood restaurant that serves fresh catch of the day. For relaxation there is a large swimming pool and a spa offering Ayurvedic massages as well yoga classes. In the surrounds are interesting places to visit including local villages and temples. There are regular cookery classes most evenings.

Stay Marari Beach Resort offers 62 cottages, grouped into garden, pool and deluxe pool villas. These are designed to look like local fishermen’s huts, with palm-thatched roofs hanging low over raised verandas and traditional wooden-slat shutters. But step inside, you have polished tiled floors, plush beds draped in fine linen and sitting areas with cushioned wicker furniture. Ensuite bathroom have modern facilities and each have a veranda or a private pool within an enclosed private garden.
ChildCare Families with children are welcome to stay at Marari Beach Resort but there are particular facilities available for children. However, babysitting service is available on request.
Dine There are two restaurants as well as a beach bar at the Marari Beach Resort. The romantically-lit Chakara restaurant offers both continental and Keralan dishes in a buffet at lunch and dinner. The Beach Grill is set under the palms specialises in catch-of-the-day seafood accompanied by aromatic vegetable stews, spicy chicken and salads. The Palm bar on the beach is a great place to have a relaxing drink, best enjoyed under moonlight as the sea laps gently against the shore.
Relax Facilities at the Marari Beach Resort include a large swimming pool and an Ayurvedic spa as well as yoga and meditation. There are also attractive gardens leading to the beach plus a butterfly garden and a lotus pond, perfect for relaxing during the day. There are regular cookery classes most evenings, so you can learn and enjoy Keralan cuisine. Other activities include tennis courts and beach volleyball.
Experience Guests at the Marari Beach Resort have the opportunity to relax on the wide open and unspoilt Marari Beach, but those interested in local culture can visit the coastal village of Mararikulam and gain an insight into local life. In the nearby are the temples of Mararikulam and Thiruvizha dedicated to Lord Shiva and further afield is the 16th-century St. Francis Church and the Dutch Palace known for its spellbinding decoration and preserved artefacts.

Getting there Fly to Cochin International Airport. Cochin is the nearest airport to Marari Beach Resort, 88 km away, a journey time of 1.5-hours.
When to go Isolated from much of India by the Western Ghats, the climate of Kerala & Karnataka is tropical. The best time to visit is from January through to April. Summer is hot and humid; the monsoon season arrives in early June and lasts till August. While September can be dry and humid. There can be a little rain in October and November, cooling off around December and lasting until February.
