Sheraton Hotel in Guilin is a brand name that is well-known in Europe and America. But what makes this hotel a good choice in Guilin, is the location. Ideally located in the centre of Guilin, on the riverfront, it gives you the opportunity to enjoy the Chinese daily life. Being one of the first 5-star hotels in Guilin, it was designed on its American brand model – the high foyer and glass elevators that goes up with lobby views, water fountains and marble floors.
The hotel has over 400 newly renovated rooms, including 17 suites. The standard rooms are gorgeous, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the garden or the river. There are massive flat-screen TVs and bathrooms with rain-forest showers, a deep-soaking bathtub, and a centrally-located floating wash basin. Elegant Rooms overlook the garden and swimming pool, while Premium Rooms have tranquil Li River vistas. Rooms on the club floor offers rooftop seating with mountain views.
Apart from the attraction of visiting the scene of HSBC's cormorant fishing advertisement, I came here to see something of rural Guilin's countryside. Particularly the Miao villages that lie about two hours’ drive from Guilin and take a cruise along the Li River to see the Yangshuo Karst limestone scenery. But when it comes to finding a luxury hotel in Guilin, there isn’t much choice. The Sheraton hotel meets the mark.

Classic Rooms have a glass wall that separates the bedroom from the bathroom, which features a deep-soaking bathtub, and a rain shower, overlooking the garden and swimming pool, while Premium Rooms have tranquil Li River vistas. Junior Suites are suffused by natural light through terrace doors, which also provide magnificent city views. On the top level, Premier Suites ensure the best perspective of the Li River through floor-to-ceiling windows.
ChildCare Children are welcome to stay at Sheraton Hotel, Guilin, but there are no specific facilities available. Babysitting can be arranged, on request.
Dine There or two restaurants, a coffee shop and a Lounge bar at the Sheraton Guilin. Cathay, the Chinese restaurant on the first floor offers a delicious culinary tour of Sichuan and Guangdong. Bene on 7, an open kitchen located on the outdoor terrace with views of the mountain and Li River, creates delicious Italian cuisine. Experience Guilin is China's most picturesque region and has long been reputed to have one of the world’s “most beautiful landscapes”. Located on the west bank of the beautiful Lijiang River, Sheraton Guilin is adjacent to the Zhengyang Pedestrian Street, City Centre Square, Elephant Trunk Hill, and close to a variety of shopping and entertainment options. Sheraton Hotel in Guilin forms a good base from which to explore the city and experience its surrounds.

Sheraton Guilin is located along the Li River in the heart of the enchanting city of Guilin. China’s Guilin city is located in the northeast of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, an hour’s flight from Hong Kong.
Getting There Guilin is a major hub for transport links with an International airport and two train stations. It is linked with major destinations in China by air. It is located 30 Kms west of the city and takes approximately 35-minutes from the airport to Shangri-La Guilin. Taxis and private cars with drivers are available from the airport for Guilin and Yangshuo.
When to go The best time to travel in Guilin is from April-May and Sep to December. During Spring, the mountains are full of colour, summers has pine and bamboo to view. Autumn has colourful leaves and chrysanthemum flowers, while winter sometimes has snow on its peaks. June to September is hot and humid with possible heavy rains.
