Park Hyatt Siem Reap – Modern Luxury in Cambodia

Park Hyatt Siem Reap is a luxury five-star hotel, situated in the heart of Siem Reap, Northwestern Cambodia. Modern and Art Deco in style, this iconic mid-20th-century revamped Khmer property feels perfectly right – its gleaming white exterior and style is a nod to the area's colonial past. Situated in the heart of Siem Reap, it’s within walking distance of the city’s shopping and nightlife and minutes away from the renowned twelfth century ruins of Angkor.

Set around an inner courtyard with lush gardens and water features, Park Hyatt Siem Reap offers 104 rooms and suites. All are equally colourful and sunny, and the marble bathrooms have excellent water pressure, an important amenity in always hot-and-steamy Siem Reap. Those opting for suites can expect oversized soaking tubs, khmer-inspired swimming pool and water garden as well as dedicated spa areas and private roof gardens.

Start your culinary tour at Park Hyatt Siem Reap’s Dining Room, which serves authentic Khmer dishes like roasted duck breast in lotus ragout and quail consommé with morel-tamarind dumplings. For relaxation there is an incredible indoor/outdoor pool surrounded by grand columns and shady alcoves and an excellent spa. When you can peel off from its loungers, ask the concierge to arrange a private tour and marvel at the sprawling complex of temples at the Angkor Archaeological Park.

Stay Park Hyatt Siem Reap features 104 rooms and suites. All are spacious in size, starting at 34 sqm and feature king-sized beds as standard draped in crisp white sheets and huge picture windows.  Wooden shutters separate decadent Italian marble bathrooms from the bedrooms and contain twin vanities, deep soaking tubs and separate rainfall showers. Usual amenities include air-con, TV, a safe, a minibar, a docking port for iPads and other tablets and a Nespresso coffee machine.

ChildCare Families with children are welcome to stay at Park Hyatt Siem Reap. Children under 12 can stay in their parent's room free of charge on existing bedding. Children will love hotel's kids pool, the homemade ice cream and the amazing smoothies. Extra cots and babysitting service can be arranged on request.

Dine Guests at the Park Hyatt Siem Reap have a choice of several dining options. The Dining Room, the hotel’s signature restaurant serves a tantalizing mélange of rustic French dishes and traditional Khmer recipes. The Living Room with a retro-chic ambience offers all day comfort food, high tea and cocktails. While in the evening, find a cosy spot for Khmer-inspired set menus, often accompanied by performances of traditional Apsara dance and Bokator, a Khmer martial art.

Relax Guests at the Park Hyatt Siem Reap can relax in the swimming pool surrounded by lush foliage, loungers and cosy shaded alcoves. There is also a smaller saltwater pool that is ideal for families. Next door is the three-story The Spa, where you can enjoy treatments which only use locally harvested aromatic floral resource and ingredients. There is also a fitness centre.

Experience Siem Reap has been on the radar for the magnificent temples of Angkor but now, it’s also known for its burgeoning food, fashion, art and design scene. The town has an eclectic mix of shops, art galleries, markets, cafes, bars and restaurants. Activity enthusiasts can go horse or elephant riding, cycling, quad biking, microlite flying and on helicopter tours. And, there are plenty of interesting cultural excursions to see traditional khmer houses, museums and villages.

Location The hotel is ideally situated in downtown Siem Reap, within walking distance of the shops and restaurants, as well as being only 8kms from the ancient temples of Angkor Wat.

Getting there 11-hour flight to Bangkok followed by a further 1-hour flight to Siem Reap. Hotel de la Paix is 25-minutes from the airport.

When to go Cambodia is hot all year round and the best time to visit is during the dry season, which runs from November to April. It starts to get wetter in May and the wettest months are September and October. It is still possible to visit during this time as rain usually falls as short sharp storms. November is a fantastic month to visit Cambodia as it is very green after the rainy season and the lakes and rivers are full of water.
