Mabul Water Bungalow is a 4-Star floating dive-resort situated at Mabul Island overlooking the famous diving destination, Sipadan Island, which is 15-minutes away by speedboat. This beautiful resort has only 16 air-conditioned Deluxe Bungalows that stand over the clear shallow waters and offer luxury and privacy. There is one Bougainville Suite that comes with a large oceanfront bathroom and Jacuzzi, a large living room and private access to the sea.
Each bungalow at the Mabul Water Bungalow boasts sophisticated décor along with remote controlled air conditioning, a mini bar, satellite TV, and an in-room safety box. Each room has its own private bathroom with a hot and cold shower. Yet what really puts these rooms over the top are the large private balconies offering gorgeous views of the turquoise blue sea.
Facilities at the Mabul Water Bungalow include a large and airy restaurant for dining. Meals are serve al fresco on the large patio of an open-air Restaurant which serves excellent western and local cuisine. After dark enjoy a drink with at the resort’s Bar & lounge. There is a souvenir shop selling variety of t-shirts, accessories and gifts, a business centre, a dive centre and a health spa outlet.

Stay Mabul Water Bungalow has 21 wooden-type bungalows, built over water with stilts. Each bungalow is exquisitely furnished with contemporary decor and equipped with air-conditioner, ceiling fan and private bathroom with hot shower. The spacious Bougainvilla Suite has an amazing living space complete with Jacuzzi, huge four poster bed and glass panels in the floor to watch fishes in the sea. Rooms have Wi-Fi, LCD TV with satellite channels and mini bar.
ChildCare Children are welcome to stay at the Mabul Water Bungalow, but there are no specific facilities available. Please note that all bungalows are over water and can be a risk for younger children.
Dine Dining at the Mabul Water Bungalow include a large and airy restaurant. Meals can be enjoyed al fresco on the deck at the large open-air Restaurant which serves excellent western and local cuisine. After dark enjoy a drink with your friends at one of the Bar & lounge.
Relax The resort’s Ka’andaman Spa is a haven for the body and mind where one can relax and soothe pain away with a gentle massage. Mabul Water Bungalow also has a whirlpool Jacuzzi which comfortably sits 4 to 6 people. Other facilities include a souvenir shop selling variety of t-shirts and a business centre.
Experience Mabul Water Bungalow conducts daily dives around the Mabul area near Sipadan Island. While Sipadan is home to large pelagic species and huge schools of fish, Mabul is known for its unique and seldom seen critters. On a Mabul dive you will see snake eels, juvenile batfish, flamboyant cuttlefish and mimic octopi. Look again closely at the reef and you may see nudibranchs, ghost pipefish, and harlequin shrimp.
Location Mabul Water Bungalows is a floating dive resort, set off the Southern tip of Pulau Mabul and overlooking the Sipadan Island. They are located in the Celebes Sea, near Tawau, north-east Borneo. Built over the water, its water bungalows linked with walkways, offer the most stunning views of the surrounding blue sea.
Getting There International flights arrive at Kota Kinabalu International Airport. Take a morning flight from Kota Kinabalu to Tawau (50 min). You can also fly to Tawau direct from Kaula Lumpur or Singapore. On arrival at Tawau, our representative will receive you at the airport and drive you to the Semporna jetty (1 hr). From there you will take the resort speed boat to Kapalai Island (50 mins).
When to go A good time to travel to Borneo is between March and September/October, with some short burst of showers between May to July. The driest season runs from April to October but even during this season, a good raincoat is a must. The heaviest rainfall generally occurs between October and January and the lowest in between February and April. Between March and May Whale Sharks are spotted not far off the East coast as they pass through the reefs on their constant migration pattern.
