The spacious and luxury rooms at the Shangri-La’s Tanjung Aru Resort and Spa are located in two wings. There is a huge array of activities and facilities at the Shangri-La’s Tanjung Aru Resort and Spa. There are seven restaurants and bars, a yoga pavilion and a private marina. Day excursions include visiting the famous Orangutans to island hopping around the stunning Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park. Activities include snorkelling, diving and trekking. Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa KOTA KINABALU, MALAYSIA


Stay Shangri-La’s Tanjung Aru Resort and Spa has 492 rooms and suites in two wings – the Kinabalu Wing and the Tanjung Wing. Tanjung Wing have spacious rooms with a private balcony and magnificent views of the ocean. While the rooms in the Kinabalu Wing, have traditional Sabah-inspired touches, reflected in the rich woods, colourful fabrics, and indulgent furnishings. These face the mountain or South China Sea. Common features include LCD TV, Wi-Fi, mini-bar, bathtub and coffee/ tea-making facilities. 


ChildCare Children are welcome to stay at the Shangri-La’s Tanjung Aru Resort. There are a number of kids-friendly activities available at the resort and babysitting services are available for children aged five and above. Parents can drop their children off anytime of the day and the resorts professionally trained, English speaking staff supervise and keep the children amused while parents relax.


Dine There is a wide range of dining options available from the laid-back Coco-Joe's Bar & Grill serving locally inspired dishes cooked on grill, to the fine-dining ambience of Italian Peppino, which has been repeatedly voted one of Malaysia’s best restaurants. For those on full board are served at the main buffet restaurant Café TATU, where international dishes are served each morning and a mixture of dishes in an open-kitchen design at night. The iconic Sunset Bar is perched at the edge of the South China Sea, that makes it perfect for sun downers and after dinner gatherings.


Relax CHI the Spa at the Shangri-La’s Tanjung Aru Resort and Spa has the most picturesque setting in Kota Kinabalu and is a haven for adults which also offers yoga, t’ai chi and Pilates sessions. The Health Club is fitted with the latest gym equipment, complemented with a juice bar, sauna and male and female orientated zones. The resort also has large swimming pool with tapered shoreline for children.


Experience Diving at the Shangri-La’s Tanjung Aru Resort and Spa is conducted by Borneo Divers who also run PADI courses. Children activities include theme-park-quality water slides measuring a total length of 100 metres. Other fun facilities include water battle stations with water balloon launchers. There are also a huge range of scheduled daily activities from cooking demonstrations to Tai Chito Aqua Aerobics and Bird Watching.
 


 

Location Bunga Raya Resort is located on Gaya Island, a pristine coral reef island off the coast of Kota Kinabalu in Sabah, Borneo.


Getting There International flights arrive at Kota Kinabalu International Airport. A 10 minutes’ drive from the airport will take you to Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa.


When to go A good time to travel to Borneo is between March and September/October, even though Southwest monsoon brings in short burst of showers between May to July. Showers usually occur on the upper slopes in the afternoon while Mount Kinabalu has its own climate. The driest season runs from April to October but even during this season, a good raincoat is a must. The heaviest rainfall generally occurs between October and January and the lowest in between February and April.
