Start your adventure in Chiang Rai, the northern gem of Thailand with a gentle bike ride to get you into the cycling rhythm of this beautiful country. Ride through the rice paddies alongside the Mae Lao River to the stunning Wat Rong Khun or the White Temple, an architectural wonder. This introductory ride will get you used to the left side biking in Thailand. Finish the day at the luxurious Le Méridien Chiang Rai Resort and later explore the night bazaar and try the local Northern Thai cuisine.
Today ride through the hills of Wawee. Start with 25 miles of flat to warm up. Then climb 2,625 feet over 9.3 miles surrounded by different agricultural landscapes and villages. A stunning rest stop with mountain views awaits. Then a 6.2 mile descent and a series of rolling roads. The day’s ride ends in Thaton by the Maekok River where a resort with a pool awaits after a challenging but rewarding 76 miles and 6,562 feet of climbing.
Start with a gentle ride and a gradual climb that unfolds over 10 miles. Ride through landscapes dotted with hill tribe farmers and occasional water buffalo as you make your way to Chiang Saen. This ancient city on the banks of the Mekong River and bordering Laos, is encircled by its original 7th-century walls, offering a glimpse into Thailand's rich history and cultural heritage.
Take it easy with a flat and fast morning ride along the Mekong River, the border between Thailand and Laos. This 48-mile journey concludes in Chiang Khong, a quiet border town known for its laid back atmosphere and culinary delights. Check into a cozy local hotel and spend the evening exploring, with the chance to indulge in savoury northern curries and traditional flat-egg noodle dishes, the region’s specialty.
Ride south to Phu Chi Fah. Start the day with a 31 mile gentle ride and then tackle the challenging climb to one of the region’s most spectacular viewpoints. The ride up offers stunning views of valleys and dense forests, leading to a remarkable cliff formation at the summit. After covering 55 miles, unwind in the evening in a cozy bungalow, embraced by the fresh, cool air and the tranquil beauty of your surroundings, marking a perfect end to a day of physical exertion and natural exploration.
Start the day with a ride to Phu Chi Fah, warm up with a 25 mile ride. The climb promises a rewarding challeng with a stop at Phu Sang Waterfall, a natural wonder fed by a hot spring. Marvel at the panoramic views of valleys and forests as you ascend. The day's climax is atop a unique cliff formation, offering spectacular views. After 78 miles unwind at the Green Hill Hotel and reflect on the day’s adventures.
Take the morning to relax in Phayao's relaxed vibe. After lunch ride to the next valley, navigating through mountain ranges and reaching elevations over 3,000 feet. Take a moment at Tan Tong Waterfall to appreciate the breathtaking landscape. As the day wanes, complete your 52-mile ride and settle in for the night, resting from the day's exertions.
Today's ride is filled with exhilarating climbs and flat sections through dense forests, home to exotic birds. The 65-mile trek also weaves through rice fields and orchards, leading to Bua Thong Waterfall for a refreshing break. Look out for the native freshwater crabs! The day concludes with a transfer to Chiang Mai, preparing you for the next leg of your journey.
Ride around Doi Suthep Mountain, the iconic mountain of Chiang Mai and home to the summit temple and city views. The route to Samoeng unveils a quaint farming village, perfect for a lunch stop. The ascent to Doi Suthep’s peak presents a rigorous yet rewarding challenge, capped by a downhill return through the foothills, marking a triumphant close to your cycling adventure.
