Leopard Trails is a luxury safari camp, set on the edge of Yala National Park, on Sri Lanka’s southeastern coast. Yala National Park consists of scrub jungle, lakes, and riverine habitats, and it has become known as one of the best wildlife parks to view leopards. The Leopard Trails camp, set in Kochchipathana village bordering the Yala Park, offers travellers the best chance to stay close to the action and can almost guarantee a sighting of this elusive animal.
The accommodation at the Leopard Trails is made up of spacious waterproof tents each with en-suite bathrooms. All tents are air-conditioned and have queen size hard beds draped in fine linen, classic teak furniture and ensuite bathrooms with modern facilities. There are also two Luxury Tents which benefit from more space and an indoor shower with solar powered hot water. For families, three basic tents can be joined together.
A typical day with Leopard Trails includes two game drives into the Yala National Park. Designed especially for photographers and comfort, in either a Toyota Land Cruiser or Toyota Hilux, the game drives are led by Game Rangers who have years of experience. Back at the camp, guests can enjoy a private alfresco shower, followed by drinks and appetizers around the camp fire. The camp operates on an all-inclusive basis including two game drives per day, all meals and drinks.

When to go Sri Lanka is a year-round destination with consistently warm temperatures and lots of sunshine. There are two monsoon seasons but they only bring rain to the west and south-west coasts from May to September; and the east coast and northern region between October and February. The rest of the year is sunny and dry but the months of December to April are probably the best time to visit. Colombo and the low-lying coastal regions have an average temperature of 27°C.
