The Datai Langkawi, located on the island of Langkawi, is set in the heart of an ancient rainforest. Shielded by a massive mountain range and accessible only from the sea, this luxurious resort is set on a forest ridge, about 300 meters back from the ocean. Designed by a visionary architect, Kerry Hill, his aim was to preserve the pristine beauty of the coastline and to unveil the hidden treasures of the rainforest. Today it reflects not only his vision but also celebrates in design the Malay cultural heritage.
The Datai Langkawi resort has 122 rooms in three types of accommodation; Canopy Collection, Rainforest Collection and Beach Collection. Each room, suite and villa embraces the lush rainforest and offers stunning views from private verandas of the breathtaking Andaman Sea. The main building made of black shale rocks houses luxurious suites of the Canopy Collection. All have balconies that offer views over the rainforest canopy all the way to the Andaman Sea.
The restaurants at the Datai are set in beautiful locations all around the resort. The Gulai House, surrounded by forest serves Malaysian curries, The Pavilion serves authentic Thai cuisine al fresco in the canopy of the rainforest and The Beach Club serves fresh seafood with wide sea views. The Spa, also beautifully located along a stream, offers a wide range of therapies. There is also a fully equipped gym and health club offering yoga and Pilates classes.
