Palace Hotel Tokyo: Luxury Hotel Overlooking the Imperial Palace

The Palace Hotel is a historic, luxury hotel, set adjacent to the Imperial Palace in the heart of Tokyo. The original hotel dates back nearly half a century but it was recently re-built, quite literally from the ground up into a grand deluxe hotel and filled with splashes of modern art, understated design and opulent living spaces. Occupying a prime location in the centre of the city, the hotel offers iconic views of the open landscaped gardens and green rooftops of the Imperial Palace.

The multi-storey Palace Hotel, looks out over Tokyo’s palace gardens with a line of futuristic skyscrapers in the distance. Inside, the 290 spacious rooms and suites display warm interiors with glass and marble fused with polished woods and luscious fabrics in off-white shades. On the sixth-floor, the Wadakura complex pays tribute to Japan’s cuisine in four distinct areas; tempura at Tatsumi, teppanyaki at GO, sushi at Sushi Kanesaka and kaiseki in its main dining room.

One of the most interesting features of the Palace Hotel is its unique location. The hotel overlooks the impressive Imperial Palace moat and its gardens and there is no road between the property and the park. In the surrounds, city highlights include shopping arcades, Shinto Shrines and fine-dining restaurants. For relaxation, there is a unique Evian spa, the first in Japan, with many treatments and a lovely swimming pool, also with breathtaking views over the Imperial Palace.
