Amanikan is a 32-metre custom built wooden cruiser, moored off the Moyo Island, just off the coast of Sumbawa in southern Indonesia. Initially built to combine with Amanwana, a luxurious tented camp on the private island of Moyo, it is now available for charter throughout the Indonesian archipelago, mainly cruising in Komodo National Park, the Spice Islands in the Banda Sea and a collection of Raja Ampat islands close to West Papua.
Custom built with local hardwoods by master craftsmen of the Konjo tribe in Sulawesi and Surabay, Amanikan houses just three spacious cabins. All are elegantly decorated in minimalist décor with modern comfort. The expansive Master Cabin occupies the stern with wraparound windows while the other two cabins, located on the main deck have scenic lookouts. Onboard facilities include air-conditioning, portable Bose docking stations, a private Aman chef and a dive master.
Komodo National Park has some of the best diving in the world. Amanikan is equipped with all the snorkelling and dive equipment and the dive guide will take you to some of the best diving spots in the archipelago with over 1,200 species of fish and 250 types of coral. Snorkelers will also see a wide variety of marine life, while those who stay above water can visit park to see Komodo Dragons. There is also fishing equipment and kayaks onboard that that you can use at your leisure.

When to go Straddling the equator, Indonesia tends to have a fairly even climate year-round. Rather than four seasons, Indonesia has two – wet and dry – and there are no extremes of temperature between winter and summer. In most parts of Indonesia, the wet season falls between October and April and the dry season between May and September. December and January see Indonesia at its most humid and rain tends to come in sudden tropical downpours, but it can also rain for more prolonged periods.
