After a 22-mile journey, reach the summit adorned with prayer flags. Revel in the panoramic views, enjoy a delightful lunch, and then descend through a serpentine valley.
Journey to Thimphu, Bhutan's capital, on a tranquil bike ride. Follow the serene Ha Chhu and Thim Chu rivers, with captivating views of rice paddies and unspoiled forests. Cycle 13 miles to Dochula, surrounded by the splendour of blooming magnolias and rhododendrons. Sample fresh fruits from banana and orange trees along the path. At Dochula pass, marvel at the prayer flags and Buddhist monuments, and soak in the Himalayan vistas. Descend through the lush Punakha Valley jungle.
Spend a restful day in Punakha, with an optional visit to the historic Punakha Dzong, a winter sanctuary for over a thousand monks. Discover the dzong's intricate architecture and deep-rooted Buddhist significance, a testament to Bhutan's rich cultural past.
Experience a full day of cycling towards the Black Mountains. Pass by scenic waterways, dense valleys, and the quaint village of Tikke. Set off on your bike, keeping an eye out for langur monkeys in their forested home. Traverse the elevated terrains of Pele La, with glimpses of the majestic Chomolhari Mountain. Descend towards Trongsa, exploring its charming village and the magnificent dzong on the banks of the Mangde Chhu River in the afternoon.
Depart Trongsa on your bike, heading towards the lofty Yutung La pass. Enter the expansive Bumthang Valley and pause for a delightful picnic lunch.
