Journey to Otsu, located in Shiga prefecture on the shores of Lake Biwa, the largest freshwater lake in Japan. After settling in, take a leisurely walk around the picturesque lake. Then head out for a delectable Ramen dinner.

After a quick breakfast, set off for a full day of travel. In the late afternoon, arrive in Hagi, a quaint city renowned for its feudal architecture, once a castle town. Learn about the local history, customs, and the challenges that the aging population and limited income opportunities present to many rural areas of Japan. Enjoy a home-cooked dinner with your hosts.
