Shinta Mani Angkor – Exclusive Luxury in Siem Reap

Shinta Mani Angkor is a contemporary boutique hotel, set on the southern end of Royal Palace in Siem Reap, Northwest Cambodia. Bangkok-based American designer Bill Bensley has created spaces that are serene and minimalist yet flamboyant in style, surrounded with sophisticated laid-back environments and inspired by the architecture of Angkor. The challenging design transcends a feeling of an urban resort, albeit with a new architectural language.

The Shinta Mani Angkor hotel offers just 39 rooms, all of which are light, airy and incredibly stylish. Rooms have a black, grey, and white palette, offset by splashes of orange reminiscent of Cambodian monks’ robes. Huge photographs of the Angkor ruins hang on the walls and one on ceiling above the bed means it’s the last thing you’ll see at night. The two in-house restaurants are equally stylish, serving gourmet Western and traditional Khmer cuisines in the dining hall or on the terrace.

The hotel has a beautiful swimming pool, flanked by palms and sleek loungers, with a Pool Bar that serves cocktails, smoothies and juices. Guests at the Shinta Mani Angkor can take one of the bespoke tours including a visit of the Angkor Temples, or to the Tonle Sap lake to see floating villages or to the Phnom Kulen National Park to see the thousand Lingas. On your return, pamper yourself with a visit to the spa, which offers massages, body treatments, and facials.

Stay Shinta Mani Angkor offers just 39 rooms. All are furnished in modern, contemporary style with monochrome interiors and exclusively created artwork that runs through the hotel. Hardwood polished floors have comfortable beds draped in fine cotton sheets, black and white photographs hang on white walls and beautiful terrazzo bathrooms. All of the which have first floor balcony views or a private terrace with direct access to the large swimming pool and tropical gardens.

ChildCare Families with children are welcome to stay at the Shinta Mani Angkor. The spacious Deluxe Living room can take an extra bed and are ideal for families. However, there are no specific facilities for younger children.

Dine There are two dining options at Shinta Mani Angkor. The hotel’s main restaurant Korya (meaning ‘food’) serves gourmet Khmer cuisine, offering a set menu of some seven courses and à la carte dining. Meals are served in the air-conditioned dining room or alfresco on the terrace. Perched above Kroya, is Bensley's Bar, a relaxed, airy space, perfect for a pre-dinner drink. There's also an off-site restaurant ‘The Steakhouse’ located on the Pub Street that offers an extensive Western menu.

Relax Set within the internal courtyard of Shinta Mani Angkor, is a beautiful black-tiled lap pool. Backed by a soothing waterfall feature and flanked by palms and sleek loungers, it is a perfect place to unwind after your day exploring the temples. For ultimate relaxation, visit the spa, which offers massages, body treatments, and facials.

Experience Guests at the Shinta Mani Angkor basically stay here to view the Angkor Temples. The hotel can arrange private tours and offer tips on the best time to visit. Other bespoke activities include visit to the Tonle Sap lake and take a boat ride to see the floating villages and learn a remarkable lifestyle led by Khmer fishing communities. Explore the countryside and experience riding an Ox cart, the local tractor. Also visit Prek Toal Bird Sanctuary, a birdwatcher’s paradise.

Location Located just 15 minutes from Siem Reap Airport in Cambodia, and just 15 minutes from the temples of Angkor Wat. It's also just moments from the centre of Siem Reap.

Getting there Shinta Mani Angkor is a 15 minute drive from Siep Ream International Airport.

When to go Cambodia is hot all year round and the best time to visit is during the dry season, which runs from November to April. It starts to get wetter in May and the wettest months are September and October. It is still possible to visit during this time as rain usually falls as short sharp storms. November is a fantastic month to visit Cambodia as it is very green after the rainy season and the lakes and rivers are full of water.
