Stay Shangri-La’s Tanjung Aru Resort and Spa has 492 rooms and suites in two wings – the Kinabalu Wing and the Tanjung Wing. Tanjung Wing have spacious rooms with a private balcony and magnificent views of the ocean. While the rooms in the Kinabalu Wing, have traditional Sabah-inspired touches, reflected in the rich woods, colourful fabrics, and indulgent furnishings. These face the mountain or South China Sea. Common features include LCD TV, Wi-Fi, mini-bar, bathtub and coffee/ tea-making facilities.
ChildCare Children are welcome to stay at the Shangri-La’s Tanjung Aru Resort. There are a number of kids-friendly activities available at the resort and babysitting services are available for children aged five and above. Parents can drop their children off anytime of the day and the resorts professionally trained, English speaking staff supervise and keep the children amused while parents relax.

Relax CHI the Spa at the Shangri-La’s Tanjung Aru Resort and Spa has the most picturesque setting in Kota Kinabalu and is a haven for adults which also offers yoga, t’ai chi and Pilates sessions. Experience Diving at the Shangri-La’s Tanjung Aru Resort and Spa is conducted by Borneo Divers who also run PADI courses. Children activities include theme-park-quality water slides measuring a total length of 100 metres. Other fun facilities include water battle stations with water balloon launchers. Getting There International flights arrive at Kota Kinabalu International Airport. A 10 minutes’ drive from the airport will take you to Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa.
When to go A good time to travel to Borneo is between March and September/October, even though Southwest monsoon brings in short burst of showers between May to July. Showers usually occur on the upper slopes in the afternoon while Mount Kinabalu has its own climate. The driest season runs from April to October but even during this season, a good raincoat is a must. The heaviest rainfall generally occurs between October and January and the lowest in between February and April.
