MEDAN
Begin your exploration of North Sumatra by arriving in Medan, where your adventure to Gunung Leuser National Park starts. As you travel the 3.5-hour journey to the park, the landscape transitions from urban sprawl to lush, tropical greenery. Upon arrival, settle into your accommodation at Bukit Lawang Eco-Lodge, nestled in the heart of the park. Unwind and prepare for the immersive jungle experience awaiting you.

MEDAN
Awake early to embark on a jungle trek in Gunung Leuser National Park, a haven for Sumatran wildlife including orangutans and the elusive Sumatran tiger. LAKE TOBA
Today’s journey to Lake Toba takes you through Sumatra’s spectacular landscapes. Witness the marvel of the world's largest volcanic lake, nestled in the caldera of a super volcano. En route, enjoy stops at quaint villages, local markets, and breathtaking waterfalls, offering insights into local life and natural beauty. Conclude the journey with a serene boat ride to Samosir Island, located in the centre of Lake Toba. Check into the Toledo Inn, your base for exploring this culturally rich and geologically fascinating area.

LAKE TOBA
Delve into the history and culture of Lake Toba by visiting local Batak Toba villages. Start with Ambarita Village to uncover its ancient megalithic culture. Experience the haunting stone courtroom, a testament to the village's past judicial practices. Next, visit Simanindo Village for a vibrant folk-dance presentation, showcasing local traditions and costumes. Conclude the day with a visit to Tomok Village, home to the Batak Chieftain Mausoleum, a site of significant cultural importance. SIPIROK

Today’s journey takes you deep into the heart of Sumatra with a 10-hour drive to Bukittinggi, a city rich in culture and history. The drive is a visual treat, offering views of verdant mountains, serene rivers, tranquil valleys, and quaint villages. Experience unique stops along the way, including a picturesque waterfall, a lush botanical garden, and a visit to a local school. You’ll also encounter a monument marking the equator, a geographical highlight. Upon arrival in Bukittinggi, check into your accommodation at either Royal Denai or Pusako Hotel for a well-deserved rest.

BUKITTINGGI
Begin your day with an invigorating three-hour hike through the breathtaking Sianok Canyon, concluding at Koto Gadang village. Experience the serene beauty of the canyon and the quaint charm of the village. After being driven back to Bukittinggi, you have the option to either engage with residents in a family home, enjoying traditional Padang cuisine, or explore Bukittinggi’s colonial sites at your own pace. Whichever you choose, you’ll gain a deeper appreciation of the local culture and history.

BUKITTINGGI
Today's excursion takes you to the serene Lake Maninjau, one of West Sumatra’s three crater lakes, known for its crystal-clear waters. The three-hour scenic drive is filled with captivating views. You have the option to hike from Puncak Lawang down to the lake, an exhilarating experience, or you can choose a more leisurely return via minivan. Spend the remainder of the day at your leisure, soaking in the tranquil surroundings and natural beauty of Lake Maninjau.
DAY 9
PADANG
Embark on an enchanting drive to Padang, the capital of West Sumatra province, taking the scenic coastal route. En route, pause at the picturesque Artha beach for a refreshing break. Upon arrival in Padang, delve into the city's rich history and culture with a sightseeing tour. Explore the vibrant Padang beach and the historic Chinatown, showcasing the city's colonial past. Settle into your comfortable accommodation at Pangeran Beach Hotel and unwind for the evening, absorbing the coastal charm of Padang.

KERSIK TUO
Today, journey for seven hours to Kersik Tuo, a serene village nestled on the fringe of a national park. The drive is a visual feast, featuring stops at the captivating Twin Lakes – Lake Diatas and Lake Dibawah – as well as a mesmerizing waterfall and a lush tea plantation. MT KERINCI
Rise early for an exhilarating trek up Mt Kerinci, Southeast Asia's highest active volcano. Prepare for a six to eight-hour ascent, a challenging yet immensely rewarding experience. The journey takes you through diverse landscapes, offering breathtaking views at every turn. Camp over 10,000 feet above sea level, under a vast canopy of stars, and bask in the serene beauty of the night sky, a fitting end to a day of adventure and exploration.
DAY 12
KERSIK TUO
Embrace the early morning serenity as you witness a breathtaking sunrise atop Mt. Kerinci, casting a warm glow over the Sumatran landscape. Prepare for an additional three to four hours of ascent to reach the mountain's summit, standing proudly on the world’s 33rd highest peak. The descent, a journey of about six hours, brings you back to the comforts of Subandi Homestay. Revel in the accomplishment of your trek and the serene environment of Kersik Tuo.
DAY 13
PADANG
Begin your day exploring Sungai Penuh's treasures, including the rejuvenating sulphur hot springs, an ancient mosque, and the tranquil Lake Kerinci. Embark on an eight-hour drive to Padang, interspersed with a delightful stop at Bungus beach. Here, indulge in a refreshing swim in the calm beach waters. Your day concludes with a restful evening at Pangeran Beach Hotel, allowing you to unwind and reflect on the journey.

PADANG - DEPARTURE
