Chitabe Camp

OKAVANGO DELTA, BOTSWANA

Chitabe Camp is located in a private concession, south-east of the Okavango Delta, Botswana. Situated on a beautiful old tree-island, Chitabe Camp has Meru-style tented rooms, built on elevated wooden decks with spacious en-suite bathrooms. The central area is made up of a thatched dining area and lounge leading onto open decking with superb views across a floodplain. There is a pool that provides a cool sanctuary.

The Chitabe area is a combination of open grasslands, acacia woodland and shallow waterways. Buffalo, elephant, lion, warthog, lechwe, hippo, giraffe, leopard, cheetah and tsessebe are found throughout the year. Wild dogs are frequently seen in the concession. The birdlife is excellent and varies throughout the year, depending on water levels and season.

Activities in Chitabe Camp include day and night game drives in open 4x4 vehicles, nature walks (on request) and spectacular birding through a diverse array of habitats.
