Getting There There are three main carriers to Honduras; each fly via Europe or the US: American Airlines fly daily via New York and Miami to Tegucigalpa. Continental Airlines operate daily flights from major UK airports through either Houston and Cleveland and on to Honduras. Iberia currently operates flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays via Madrid and Costa Rica. Taca operate flights onward to Honduras.

When to go Honduras has a tropical climate, with warm temperatures and rain throughout the year. The best time to go to Honduras is May through June when there are several town fairs and celebrations, including a weeklong carnival held in La Ceiba. On the Caribbean coast, the driest period is from February to June. The rainy season starts in May through mid-November though in much of the country it rains for only a few hours in the afternoon. It is best to avoid October and November which is in the middle of the hurricane season.
