Day 01 – Arrive
Panama City On arrival at the Tocumen International Airport, you will be met by our representative and escorted by private transfer to your hotel in Panama City.
Overnight at Hotel Casa Antigua.
Day 02 – City Tour
Panama City Take a private guided tour of the famous first city of Panama La Vieja. This was the first Spanish city established on the Pacific side, and destroyed in 1671 by the famous English pirate Henry Morgan, who took Fort San Lorenzo on the Caribbean side and proceeded to Panama City.
Continue to Casco Antiguo, the city that was strategically constructed in 1673 after Henry Morgan abolished the first city. It was built by the Spanish and then used by the French during the construction of the canal and also by the railroad workers. Here you will observe the diverse architecture and city layout. Take a panoramic view of the city from Ancon Hill before lunch at a local restaurant in the city.

Day 03 – Chagres National Park & Emberas village
Gamboa Rainforest Take a private transfer for a trip into the rainforest and a unique cultural experience with the Embera Indians of Chagres National Park. With your local indigenous expert guide, you will travel up river for about an hour in motorized canoe to their village to spend the afternoon. We will learn about the Embera culture and traditions, swim under a forest waterfall, enjoy lunch on a banana-leaf plate, and even try their traditional tattoo painting. This tour is suitable for children over 6 years.

Day 04 – Chagres National Park & Gatun Lake
Gamboa Rainforest After breakfast, take the hotel transportation to the marina below the resort for a cruise to Monkey Island in Gatun Lake. The rest of afternoon is free to enjoy the resort’s animal and nature exhibits, including a butterfly house, crocodile pool and aerial tram (optional).

Day 05 to 07 – Beach on the Pacific
Playa Blanca Travel to the Pacific Coast’s best beach and resort, the Playa Blanca. This all-inclusive resort features seven beachfront swimming pools, seven restaurants and bars, nightly shows, and use of games and sports equipment on the beach.

Day 8 – Depart
Panama City Private transfer to the international airport for your onward flight (B)

Getting There International flights arrive at Tocumen International Airport (PTY) in Panama City. Flight from the US are mostly routed through Atlanta, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston or Miami and other Central and South American cities; KLM and Iberia fly from Amsterdam and Madrid, respectively. Flights from San José, in neighbouring Costa Rica, often stop in David before continuing on to Panama City. The recently upgraded airport in David is expected to see direct international flights from and to the US at some point.
When to go The best time to visit Panama is during the dry season from around mid-December to mid-April. There is a prolonged rainy season from May to November, with the heaviest rain between October and November. Rain in Panama tends to come in sudden short downpours followed by sunshine. The climate is less tropical at higher elevations. In mountain areas, the average annual temperature ranges from 10 C to 19 C at various mountain elevations.
