Next to it is an irresistible elephant orphanage, the ground zero for the Rothschild’s giraffe, Karen Blixen's former home and more. Close to the National Park is the Bomas of Kenya where you can experience different aspects of Kenyan culture displayed there, including living styles, crafts, music and dancing. When to go Game viewing is at its best in mid-summer after the rainy season has ended. The days will be long and the weather pleasant. The best month is probably July.

The main rainy seasons are from April to May (the long rains) and October to December (the short rains). Rainfall is seldom continuous over long periods and normally falls in the late afternoon preceded by bright sunny and fresh days. The Rift Valley and Central Highlands enjoy a temperate climate year round although the temperatures vary from the hot and relatively dry floor of the Rift valley to arctic on the peaks of Mt Kenya.
