ASIAN GEOGRAPHICAL 
The Asian Geographical operates two types of package holidays (namely Asian Geographical Expeditions and Asian Geographical Adventures. Asian Geographical Partners Ltd and its subsidiaries exist to support the Asian Geographical Society in its initial stages with part-profits.

 

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN EXPEDITIONS AND ADVENTURES?

Expeditions
Asian Geographical Expeditions are small-group experiential tours designed to reflect our travellers’ broad spectrum of interests with a focus on providing cultural experiences and activities in spectacular destinations. Expeditions may offer physical challenge and feature moderate accommodations in the field to give travellers an authentic local experience. Expeditions are led by Asian Geographical experts and/or experienced local guides who like to share their knowledge and passion of the region, making each experience enriching and unforgettable. Although some meals and activities are included, itineraries include free time and choices for various activities. Expeditions offer unforgettable experience at incredible value.

Adventures
Asian Geographical Adventures are privately guided tours, tailor-made to your specific requirements. To help you decide your tour, we have developed sample itineraries shown on our website. This is our Signature Collection of some the best itineraries to the world’s most unique destinations. Travel on your own, with your partner, family or friends; choose your own pace and style; departure date and mode of travel; choose chic, boutique hotels, iconic lodges or resorts; add activities and experiences of your choice; explore with private guides or shared local guides; we’ll ensure the tour style has your distinct signature. Adventures require minimum 2 persons. Single travellers are welcome but single supplement may be applicable. 

 

WHAT IS THE SIZE OF THE GROUP TOUR?
The average group size of our Expeditions is between 16 and 24 persons and age group between 20-40 yrs, (Family Expeditions average 18 Persons). This way, you’ll get to know your local tour leader and fellow travellers and we can take you to see sights and arrange experiences that aren’t suitable for larger groups. Each of our groups are led by an Asian Geographical Expert or experienced local guide. Family Expeditions may have more than one guide to ensure safety of children. 

 

DOES THE TOUR COST INCLUDE FLIGHTS?
All prices are without international flights, except where indicated. This allows travellers to take benefit from the best prices at the time you choose to book, taking advantage of major seasonal variations and short-term special offers. If you wish, we can arrange to book your flights. This may include a small surcharge but it will protect you under our ATOL bonding scheme (application to ATOL pending). 

 
WHAT DOES THE TOUR COST GENERALLY INCLUDE?
For Asian Geographical Expeditions, the cost includes accommodations, and some meals and excursions as indicated in the itinerary; services of the Asian Geographical expert, expedition leader or local guide; ground transportation; most transfers; baggage handling; gratuities (except for those for the ship or train crew, where applicable, unless otherwise noted in the itinerary). Included meals are noted at the end of each day on our itineraries with a B for breakfast, L for lunch, and D for dinner.

For Asian Geographical Adventures, the cost includes accommodations, and most meals and excursions as indicated in the itinerary; services of the Asian Geographical expert or local guide; ground transportation; most transfers; baggage handling. WHAT DOES THE TOUR COST GENERALLY NOT INCLUDE?
Air transportation and related fees (except as indicated in the itinerary); activities noted as optional in the itinerary; gratuities for train or ship’s crew, unless otherwise noted on the itinerary page; passport, visa, and permit expenses; medical expenses and immunizations; baggage/accident/cancellation insurance; personal expenses, such as laundry, telephone calls, and alcoholic beverages; and any other items not specifically noted as included.

 

DO YOU OFFER SHARED ACCOMMODATION FOR SINGLE TRAVELLERS?
Most hotels around the world charge more per person for a single occupancy room than for a shared twin room, because the cost of maintaining a room for one person can be almost as high as it is for two. In addition, many single occupancy rooms are the same as twin/double rooms. Asian Geographical will assist persons requesting a roommate. The participants will be notified if a suitable roommate is not available, in which case the single rate will be charged.

 

WHAT IF AN EXPEDITION DOES NOT REACH ITS MINIMUM NUMBERS? WILL IT BE CANCELLED?
We will not cancel your travel arrangements less than 60 days before your departure date (90 days for a cruise holiday), except for reasons of unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances or failure by you to pay the final balance. We may cancel your holiday before this date if, for example, the minimum number of clients required for a particular travel arrangement is not reached. If your holiday is cancelled, you can either have a refund of all monies paid or accept an offer of alternative travel arrangements of comparable standard from us if available (we will refund any price difference if the alternative is of a lower value). 

 

WHAT KIND OF PACE SHOULD I EXPECT ON TOUR?
Our itineraries are designed to include full, active days with plenty of opportunities to experience at each place from an insider's perspective, whether that means encountering wildlife, learning about different cultures and environments, or sharing in local traditions. Pace and physical activity level vary by trip and by travel style. On Asian Geographical Expeditions and Adventures, we offer alternate activities when possible. Asian Geographical Expeditions, which include activities like hiking, kayaking, or horse riding, have designated activity levels ranging from easy to ultimate challenge, and travellers always have the choice to rest a day.

HOW MUCH FLEXIBILITY IS THERE IN THE ITINERARY?
In all our Asian Geographical Expeditions, we have built in options and free time where possible so that you can experience a place and its people in a way that's meaningful to you. By their nature, some tour types offer more flexibility and free time. For instance, Asian Geographical Expeditions balance guided tours and planned activities with time to explore on your own, while some Expeditions have more free time and options built into most days, so you can choose what kind of activity you like to do or what local sites are most interesting to you. We can assist you on the activities you want to take but if you are interested in exploring further, many of our expeditions offer pre- or post-trip extensions.

Asian Geographical Adventures are of course designed to your specifications but for tours including small ship voyages, we keep our itineraries flexible to take advantage of unexpected opportunities or to adapt to weather conditions or other circumstances. 
 

DO I NEED TO PURCHASE TRIP INSURANCE?
Yes. We strongly recommend that you have insurance cover and that it is adequate and suitable for your particular needs. Travel insurance can offer financial protection for trip cancellation and interruption, as well as assistance should you encounter travel delays, baggage loss, or any cancellations. Furthermore, if you require medical/any other form of assistance or medical treatment while traveling. If you fail to take out insurance and have to cancel your booking, you will be charged in accordance with our normal terms and conditions – Cancelling your holiday. Please read your policy details carefully and take them with you on your trip.

 

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING ON MY EXPEDITION OR ADVENTURE?
On an Asian Geographical Expeditions and Adventures, the dress is typically casual, so we recommend that you pack clothes that are comfortable and that will be well suited to the activities and climate specific to your expedition. Prior to your trip, we will provide you with packing tips and suggestions and information regarding any baggage weight restrictions. Travellers on Asian Geographical Adventures usually take a set of smart casuals. 

 

WHAT DOCUMENTS CAN I EXPECT TO RECEIVE ONCE I BOOK MY TRIP?
After you sign up for an Asian Geographical Expedition or Adventure, you will receive several pre-trip mailings with specific information about your destination; packing suggestions; and other relevant information to help you prepare for your trip. Any additional materials you receive will depend on the trip you have booked.

At the time of booking online, you will be generated a reference number. Please use this reference when speaking to our team at Asian Geographical. Once the full balance of your holiday is paid, you can expect to receive your confirmation invoice which will be sent to your email address you supplied to us at the time of booking. 
 

WHAT IF I NEED TO CHANGE OR AMEND MY BOOKING?
If you notice something that requires amending, you should contact us immediately on 020 8350 6199 and advise us. We will endeavour to put everything right for you. Sometimes our suppliers charge us for changes made to reservations and as such we may need to pass these charges onto you. 

 

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL MY BOOKING?
All cancellation notices must be received in writing and will become effective as of the date of the postmark. If you or any other member of your party decides to cancel your confirmed booking, 90 days or more prior to departure, a refund of the amount paid will be made, less deposit and non-refundable items. If cancellation is made 89-57 days prior to departure: cancellation charge will include 60% of the tour cost; 56-43 days prior to departure: 75% of the tour cost; 42-15 days prior to departure: 85% of the tour cost and for 14 days and less; 100% of the tour cost.
